Often there is an open area for various lounging and dining furniture between a pool and an 'outdoor kitchen.' Possibly a shade structure for folks who don't want to be in the sun all the time. Seems you want to keep it simple, cover your needed functions, but not sure on layout. Looking at already installed projects will help you determine just what you like and don't like and you can go from there.
