Modern .. Dark celling / light soffit.. Or the other way around
So trying to decide on paint Poggenpohl plusmodo kitchen ... The photo was my Insperation..the sketchup is my plan...looking to make a dramatic celiling /soffit ... Witch one should be light or dark? The soffit is fairly low to define the space and feeds into the entryway. I was thinking light soffit dark ceiling , but would that make it feel deeper or more compressed?

fitzcisco It looks like your ceiling is high. If so, I think you definitely can put a darker color on the ceiling. It will be dramatic. There is no rule that the ceiling must be light.

fitzcisco The second picture threw me. Is the ceiling coved? If so, I feel pconfident darker would work.

Ken Stranahan Went with a dark soffit..happy with it... Need to put in the counters next.. It's all really coming together
