Window Coverings for sliding glass doors
I am looking for ideas to cover kitchen sliding glass doors. I HATE vertical blinds and don't want draperies. Any suggestions?

kimjdenny How about sheer curtains? (That you can easily open & close) If you don't need for privacy. We have sliders too and I agree on not liking the vertical blinds. We are getting new doors soon and I can not wait to take them down!

blindsdirectcanada There are a few options there are always sliding panels . Maxxmar came out with a new product called vertical shadings also Shutters would be a great option for sliding doors . I will attach pictures below to show you .

bojaby I use a roll down shade under a high mounted valance. You can get shades in bamboo, stick, or if in a sunny location you can use a shade that blocks UV and helps reduce fading of your floors or carpet and any fabric in your room. Some people use two narrower shades so you can have one half open or closed. I too hate vertical binds and curtains pick up odors and grease so easily in the kitchen. The next time I have to replace a slider I am going to get the built in blind option. They are more expensive but solve the privacy issue.

Dytecture I agree, a bamboo shade would provide some softness and could be dressed up with a side drapery.
