Need help with pet proofing my rod iron fence , so my cat cannot get through!
I just built a home and I have a very large backyard. The yard backs up to a burm. There is a rod iron fence that has openings just large enough for my cat to get out . I would like something to cover it that is attractive and practical. I am thinking about lattice and then growing ivy and or flowers to climb up it ? Any other ideas. I live in Idaho so the soil is rich. However, we do sometimes have rather cold winters . Sprinkler's are already built in .

ASVInteriors First consideration: my cat could easily leap up and hop over that fence? Are you sure yours won't do the same?
I have researched cat repellent on other sites just to see if there was something that would dissuade your cat from going there so you can train it - I am still laughing about the guy who planted a boogie bass in the mulch, and when the offending cat went to do his stuff, the boogie bass started singing and sent the cat 5ft in the air!!! NOT what I would like to happen to yours!!! Unfortunately, entertaining as those stories are, I have not come up with a good solution for you. I will ponder it tonight and get back to you if I have a solution that is practical and humane! Best of luck

kris525 That is very funny ! No , I do not think she will jump up . I will always be with her when she is out there . If she starts to wiggle ( a sure sign she is going to jump ) I can grab her. I thought of a collar and long leash so she can stay on the patio. .... just do not want to take any chances . Thanks !
