Need help on bathroom ideas....no more oak!
Would like to stain all the oak, but not sure if I should go dark (Espresso) or light (Porcelain)? Plus paint the walls. Thanks for any ideas.

Dytecture Here is an example of a painted dark vanity. Also consider having one large mirror instead.

LB Interiors Other examples. I would use larger more interesting mirrors. So many choices, also an artwork between or large sculpture on a shelf between the mirrors. Maybe change lignting to separate fixtures over each mirror.

carazy1 Oops... sorry didn't read too closely see that you are just looking for new paint colors... I will leave this post anyway, in case you ever decide to have a new one built. I am in the process of redoing my girls bathroom. We are almost done, after about a year of planning. ;-) Houzz has so many great ideas, search double vanity and you will find thousands. I have attached our vanity. I ended up designing it and having it custom built to maximize space. I added a pull out "spice" rack type drawer and tilt downs. The girls haven't started using the bathroom yet, but I hope to "move back in" next week. I also have an idea book I have chosen a bunch of double vanities. Search carazy1 bathroom ideas.

Don Or Janet Cook I like the look of a dark espresso stain colour. A large mirror would be great but framed plse. I saw a bathroom on pinterest where they put a cabinet on the counter between the sinks (tall, skinny with doors) Looked very nice. Not the whole depth of the counter of course.

rawketgrl Dark vanity, large mirror in a frame, or 2 large mirrors in frames with sconce between and on sides.

Overland Remodeling & Builders Is the soffit above serve anything? Air duct maybe? If not, it should not be expensive to remove, and it can make a big change to the look and feel of the bathroom.

You got here great ideas about the mirror. It's really about what you like better; 1 big mirror in a frame or two individual mirrors with 1 or 3 scones light

wmpj I suggest you replace the light fixture. It's dated and burning the ceiling/soffit.

Urban Ideas Inc. If you really want to stain your vanity, I'd suggest to go darker. However, since your oak is not a cross cut , you will still see lots of grains and will not look as contemporary as some of the pictures posted. I would rather spray paint it like Crazy1 suggested. In addition, I would replace the mirrors, they look rather small. And, finally, the wood sconce should be removed. Replace it by two units, above each mirror or a double sconce between mirrors. Good luck, Laura

Suzanne Regimbal I agree you need to stain the vanity , maybe ebony loose the small mirrors ,have two large mirrors framed in the same dark wood scones on either sides . With that you will want to upgrade your counter and sink ; the counter has to match the colour hue of the floor so bring some sample in to see the colour sutleties.:-)

apennameandthata You already have white and white bench and sinks, and they seem to clash. If you have a light vanity that will probably clash more. I myself would leave the whole thing alone until I had enough cash to fix the sinks and the bench - otherwise you will spend time and effort and not be left with a good result. Sure, its dated, but it still looks pretty good. I would be happy to live with it as it is. But if I was going to spend money, the first thing I would want would be to look down and see a stylish sink.
