Warm or Cool Colours?
kennadysmama

I am horrible at figuring out if colours are warm or cool.
Here are two colours I am considering.

Nile Sand - Behr

Deserted Island- Behr

Are these two colours warm or cool colours?

The first has strong undertones of yellow = yellow is a warm colour on the colour wheel
The second has strong undertones of green = green is a cool colour on the colour wheel.

2 points:
1. A good designer can make rooms with cool colours feel warm and vice versa. (see below how the red changes)
2. If in doubt, just find out the base make up of your paint (if it has lots of reds, yellows or oranges in its base make-up it will be a warm colour; if it has blue and greens then it will be a cool colour - or ask your local paintshop

Thank you! :) Just to confirm then: I shouldnt put these two colours in rooms on the same floor of a open concept home right? Should keep all with cool colours or warm colours?

If you are not sure, I strongly advise you not to. Best of luck
