Help me with my dining room
I now have a large dining room (former kitchen space), however it is alongside my garage so no windows. The only openings are the columns from the sitting room and two doors - one coming from what is now the home office (former dining space) and our new mudroom. The longest wall has boxed in pipes...but it doesn't stretch along the wall, so it just looks awkward and divided. I have attached pictures from different angles. I'd like to replace the furniture in the room with a nice long table and chairs...perhaps even add a china cabinet. But what do I do about that long dreadful wall? Suggestions are appreciated.

decoenthusiaste Drop a beautiful chandy above a new table. Put a buffet and piece of art on the long wall with the pipe things. You could even do a built in one as below. A china cabinet can fit between the doors on the opposite side. If you'd like a rug under the table you need to be sure there is room for one 4 feet larger each way than your table. Is that a wallpaper pattern or just the way the light casts shadows on your walls? Are the walls in the adjoining rooms the same color? Would you like to take it up a notch in the dining room? I'd consider using a favorite color that differs from the rest of the house. You might wall paper the funky recess where the buffet would go for a spot of glam.
