Rectangular or square floor tiles?
Hi,

Which ones are more modern rectangular or square floor tiles? Thanks

AMN Square can be made to look modern too, but rectangular ones lend themselves to a modern look more easily. Grout lines are another important part of the equation. To get a more modern look, go with very thin or no (if possible, depending on the tile and the installation parameters) grout lines.

ASVInteriors Both. Enter " modern square tiles" in houzz to see how effective they can be. Large is better than small.

Dytecture I agree with the size and design of the tiles are the deciding factors rather than their shapes.

Arlene Warda, Architecture+Interior Design I think both. Square is considered a 'grid'. Anything that is a 'grid' is considered modern. like the post by Dytecture above. Rectangular is nice too, staggered. It is a little less formal than the grid. So, you decide, formal or informal?...
