Need help picking the right color tile for shower.
I have a great guy who is going to come in and redo the ugly white tile that covers the walls of my shower and tub. We put slate on the floor about a year ago so that has to stay. We will finish the floor once the shower is complete. The vanity is white

ASVInteriors Why not continue with slate? It is so elegant.

toomatola Sorry I didn't get to finish. I hit post instead of anther picture. After the shower is complete I will paint, replace the long mirror and fix the cabinet doors. I'm thinking of a bluish grey for the walls.

ASVInteriors So, slate and that colour should be great. Does that work for you? Using the same tile on the floor and wall reinforce each other and gives unity.

toomatola I was thinking of doing slate but didn't know if it would be too dark throughout. Does that really matter in a bathroom?

ASVInteriors I have used it and love it. It is actually warm and cosy but you need good lighting

ciao44 Hi - I just want to commiserate on your white ceramic tiles, ours was like that too. I'm not a designer...but....what about slate in the shower, and then something different along the bath, to add interest? (depending on your style) We used quartzite and glass in the shower, and glass on the tub, with wood surround. Here are the befores/afters (and I am aware my style is busy and cacophonous, but we love it : )

spmm It may be worth considering why the white tile is stoping away from the 'post' or why the post sticks out beyond the edge of the bath.
