Will the Nixon chairs be too big and bulky?
We are moving to a more modern theme in our living room and have replaced the couch (black with stainless steel base) and carpet (cream and beige/grey perimeter) and now need to get chairs. We are thinking the Nixon Chairs from Thrive Furniture ( http://www.thrivefurniture.com/nixon-chair/ ) in Klein Granite fabric. Our issue is, will these chairs be too bulky for our space, especially the width. The carpet in the photo is 8' x 10'. The existing orange chairs are 35" wide and we would of course get rid of the trunk tables in between to make room for the new chairs. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank-you, Shay

decoenthusiaste You should arrange your room with the new items and then post so we can really help. It doesn't help us when you post pictures of items that are gone and don't show the ones you want us to work with. Take pics around the room moving clockwise from the entry.

shayh Good idea with the additional photos. The couch and carpet are new, just the orange chairs are old because I don't know what to buy have not yet bought new ones.

shayh Ya sorry for the confusion. The carpet and couch as displayed are new and I am wondering design thought on the Nixon chairs swapping out the orange chairs in the photo.

cypress I think your Nixon chairs would work in this space, but don't plan on using a side table between them. Total length of both chairs is 81" inches, you will have about 6" inches of carpet on the outside of each chair, if that. (not much) You could pull them more into the corner (by the window) and angle them into the room. Use some masking tape to outline the dimensions on your rug.

cypress Shayh, just went onto Thrive Furniture web site, they are big chairs, but great looking. Measure, measure to be sure!
