Need art/wall decor suggestions
I need help selecting art/wall decor for my kitchen wall that wont overwhelm the room. We have a very open floor plan so as soon as you walk through the foyer you are immediately in the family room which opens directly into the kitchen, so anything on that blank kitchen wall will be a focal point of the living room/kitchen. I had a starburst mirror but it didnt fill in the space enough. Should I do a trio of starbursts? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

Jane Antonacci Interior Design A large painting would be wonderful! Look at the less expensive galleries in your area for something colorful. I think you need a bit of a "WOW" factor in that location. Also prints from Z gallery or other online galleries could work. Pick something you love, just make sure it is a vertical, and is about 4' wide x 6' high. That is a big wall! Another idea would be covering the entire wall (minus the odd shape at the right) with a mural/photographic wallpaper of an image you like. Dramatic and can really create a mood of your choice.

njmomma A trio of mirrors could look nice. What are the mirrors reflecting? Can you post a pic of the mirror? or put it back on the wall and post pic?

elainerosen I posted 2 more pics of the starburst mirror and also the view from the mirror (I know it looks dwarfed on the wall). Would it help if I changed the chairs at the table? Possibly a lighter color? Thanks for your suggestions!!

elainerosen I saw this at a local furniture store but wouldn't add much color

sandra1942 I had a narrow wall like yours next to the stair rail. I found a colorful table runner (Pottery Barn) and hung it there. Color with softness of fabric, and gets lots of raves. Less expensive than good art work.

njmomma I think a trio of mirrors would work well, but I think you could use color in your space. Here is some inspiration for art that may work. A long rectangular art in the space would work.

Christine Curry I think some metals would look great right there.. aluminum or chrome.

Magdalena Bogart Interiors I like Jane's idea the best. A big bold painting or print 4' x 6 ' looks generous and gives the necessary "wow" factor. I prefer organic shapes. There are already so may squares in a room.

Magdalena Bogart Interiors Both prints are 24" by 36" . Look at allposters.com or at your local galleries for original art. Another great source is Etsy.com
