collettec No, the tables don't have to match and it doesn't matter what shape table. I would consider having similar lampshades on both lamps. I would also consider a larger table for under the television - one larger than the television itself and also hanging the drapes higher - just under the molding.

Keitha A simple update would be to remove sheers and install new drapery panels at the ceiling. Flank each side of the fireplace with the red chairs placing your existing floor lamp beside the red chair to the right of the firreplace. Purchase a media cabinet for the TV. Remove the horns over the fireplace and replace with artwork. Purchase throw pillows with pops of red and add a small coffee table.

carole thank you for the additional photoos,in the meantime they all came up with good ideas,is there an end wall behind where the chairs are or door to another room,if it is wall i would put the sofa there with a shelf behind to put the lamps on and put the tv on the wall opposite the fireplace then the chairs and coffeetable on the wall with the door in the corner near the window,will you try them and show us pictures again!!??even if you cant buy any thing yet moving the furniture around will give you a good idea..
