Need help with shelf lighting
I am having built-in shelves made with glass shelves for my apartment. I would like to add lighting but I am not sure what to use. Do people prefer LED or halogen spotlights?

Thanks for everyone's advice!

Ironwood Builders Halogen are warm lights..and hot. Venting may be necessary in a cabinet to get rid of excess heat. LED are not hot, but come in warm and cool light variations. A warmer tone for some materials, maybe a cooler tone for glassware. Glass shelves are great, but remember, light will only pass through the glass, not the objects...unless they are glass too.

ASVInteriors LEDs are very versatile and if you get a superled you can get the same strength as a halogen. I have used both side by side and the difference is negligible. As Ironwood states, you can work on silhouette or on highlighting - placing the spotlight slightly in front will wash down the front of the items, whereas centered in the middle will only hit the first object and throw the others into shadow...

spmm Yes you would not want to put anything of value near a halogen lamp, so hot, they can also be a fire risk and they chew through electricity.
