Advice needed. Repainting my kitchen cupboards.
Hi all, I have a basic Kitchen which I would like to brighten up by painting cream or white. It's plastic wrap laminate at present and I have been trying to find the right information on how to do this especially with what type of paint to use for (a) primer if needed and (B) the finish. My brother can spray them for me as he has a commercial vehicle spraying business but neither of us know what products to use for this type of door. I have attahed a picture of the current kitchen, any advice appreciated either for spray paint or hand paint. If anyone hase done this before I would love to hear from you.

sacapuntaslapioz You would probably be better off by purchasing new doors (many places sell them online made to specifications) and change the veneer of the exposed part of the cabinets than to try to paint plastic. That said I would do white cabinets or a grey that matches the stripe in your backsplash. Also PLEASE change the light fixture.

bramble44 Thanks sacap. I hadn't really planned on spending much money on this project as I will probably replace the whole kitchen next year that's why I thought of the DIY paint job. Might just be better to leave them.

elklaker I have to agree. If you are going to replace the cabinets within a year, save your money and get what you really want.

sacapuntaslapioz Much better. That way you can reuse your current cabinets by selling, donating them, or using them in your basement or garage without peeling paint.
