Need advice for window coverings, if any
We have built his lovely new great room addition 20x16, which is open to the kitchen. The yard is very private yard with tall cedar hedge so no privacy issues, but I feel it needs something to dress the windows and huge sliding door. No issues with sun blinding during the day either, as it is mostly shady in the backyard. Thanks for your advice!

Gabberts Design Studio Gorgeous room! I would add side panels to the 2 windows, with drapes pulled to the outer sides. I would leave the transom window open, but put a Hunter Douglas product, like Luminette on the sliding door for privacy. Adding soft treatments will warm up the space. Love everything you've done so far!! Especially the barn door!!!

LizaJane I think of drapery as the final touches of a room, like a piece of jewelry. You have sconces on either side of side window so you have to be careful of that. I would probably hang a drapery rod above each side window (same level as transome window) with a panel on each rod and then pulled back. I have included a photo as a sample.

ReMax - Lisa Thanks for your input! I really appreciate your time. What do you think of roman blinds on the smaller windows and full drapes on the sliding door (same fabric) that will be pulled wide open most of the time. The sliding door may be too large for the Silouette type blinds, although I do like them.

decoenthusiaste Here is something similar to your idea. You could also use working roman shades on the small windows and a stationary or mock roman on the sliders that works like a valance and looks just like the working ones on the windows.
