Want new rug
I want to put a new rug in the space between sofa & chairs. Can't decide whether to keep neutral (as in animal print, maybe) or go with color & pattern??? We have dogs, so must be synthetic and I also want it to be semi-plush (no sisal, etc). We are empty-nesters. Want this room to be fun (bar in background), eclectic & colorful without being juvenile. Any input appreciated! Thanks!

Fringes Rugs Hello,

You're right, Animal Skin rugs could give you that edgy and fashionable style, and could work well within your existing room. We have a few Animal Print rugs that may work: http://www.fringesrugs.com/rugs/index/category:modern-rugs/pattern:animal-print/shape:rectangle+circle+scolloped+octagonal+square

As well as Animal Skin, if you're looking for something a little more muted then possibly a Natural rug would be your best bet. Natural rugs don't have to be 'dull' or boring - subtle shades and lineage with great textures can be found to spice up the Natural look. There could be something in our Natural collection to give you something to think about, the Missouri range is both interesting and affordable. http://www.fringesrugs.com/index/category:natural-rugs

Either way, we hope you find the perfect rug! Loving the beams across the ceiling.

Regards,

Fringes Rugs.

LizaJane I would difinately add some color and pattern if you have dogs. I have attached a few samples.

ejinsa LizaJane, Thank you for the sample pics! Where can I find these rugs, in particular the one with the rust & blue in it?

decoenthusiaste I can refer you to homedecorators.com for rugs. Lots to choose from and you can shop by color, style, material, etc.

Barbara Griffith Designs Look at http://homedecorators.com/ for great inexpensive rugs. Make sure the size is large enough to go from sofa to chairs, etc. A too small rug looks as bad as no rug. Also consider a similar or same rug under your table & chairs. Be bold in color & pattern.

Lyndsey Rose Cowhide or animal print. I love your wall color... What is it?

Oriental Weavers This looks like such a cozy space! There are so many options and directions you could go with a rug. I'm attaching some colorful rugs, then some more neutral options. Tough decision! Either way, it already has a great comfortable feel!

PYRAMID DESIGN GROUP The room is crying out for color. I would stay away from the animal prints and go for some color and pattern. Then you can get a new table cloth and lamp shade to pick up the rug colors. You can also rethink the pillows. These changes will tie the room together and give it some punch.

ejinsa Lyndsey Rose - The paint color is SW Mindful Gray (SW7016), the fireplace is on the same strip; it is Gauntlet Gray. Thanks to everyone for your help and all the nice comments!

ejinsa What about this one? It doesn't introduce more colors but I love it! If not this one; what rug would YOU put in this space???
