Help with urns by front door
Bought at an estate sale. Want to paint and remove the monkey grass and put in an appropriate plant, shrub, topiary. Ideas please.

Mary Bona Here's what I did with some yellow colored urns I found at Home Depot! I think it would look good with your black door. I just used some oil rubbed bronze colored spray paint (for indoor/outdoor use).

lkupcunas Ditto.. I think bronze is the way to go.

achelous The door, lights and urns are too symmetrical so it looks static and lifeless. I would put the urns to one side with different plants and remove the tiny stool

lobobox Thanks for the feedback. Bronze and put them together on one side.

Mary Bona I'd put them on either side. It will look stately, and symmetry is a good thing. You have a lovely front entrance and I think these urns will give it the finishing touch it needs.

helcia Definitely color the urns dark. Similar to your front door. Not sure you'll be able to have live plants in the urns because of the roof overhang. Can't use tall plants because of the sconce positions. Also, get a large dark mat rather than the green one, and remove the white stool.

Isha Goyal Go with bronze color urns. Check my website for outdoor topiaries www.ktsilk.com
You will get some more ideas.

kobley I would paint them black and put topiaries in them. There are some very nice fake ones available if you don't want to care for them. Add a large black welcome mat and remove the white stool.
