Need help with coloring for wainscoting...NO LIGHT COLORS!
We have 4 small children which means white wainscoting is definitely out. We thought a dark warm color such as Wild Truffle by Glidden might look ok????The cabinets are a shaker cherry color, tile is rustic earthtones and the wall above the wainscoting is painted kraft paper tan...any thoughts are appreciated...we are completely at a loss as to what to paint the wainscoting.

michigammemom You might consider painting the wainscoting a truffle color and leave the upper molding in white like this combination.

S East I like that then we wouldn't be concerned about the white window trim it would all mesh....it just so frustrating we agree on a color and then put it against the wainscoting and hate it.....8 months of this....

Jayme Hobbs If u go darker on the wainscoting, I would do a lighter wall color, and leave the trim white. Like in Micigammemom's pic.

S East could you suggest a color? so the kraft paper is too dark? there are so many variations on cream, do you know of one that would do well with the Glidden dark Truffle?

Jayme Hobbs I cannot really see your tan color very well...sorry if I spoke out of turn..I was thinking a lighter color on top...but sounds like u plan to leave the walls the same color they are now, which is a lighter color....

Jayme Hobbs I believe the dark one is the dark truffle...the lighter color on the swatch would look good..on the top part of the walls. I am sorry I cannot see enough of your current color to say anything about if it would appear to work or not with the truffle.

Jayme Hobbs I think you should leave your trim white, including the strip on the top of the wainscoting...as in pic
