A. Peltier Interiors Just need a little more info, are you planning on any other updates like the backsplash or counters, or just the cabinets? May I ask why you are looking to change them to a different color? Is it to update them or are you just bored? Thanks!

Dytecture Staining or painting the cabinets would give this kitchen a more updated look. It's a personal choice to go with light or dark as they both could work.

morristhecat Nice window. Think about refacing cabinets instead. I had a cabinet maker do all of mine in a premium maple and stained to what I wanted, much cheaper than new cabinets. I mention this because I have this "oak thing" going on in my bathroom now and paint will not cover the grain of the oak. However, I'm going to research a little more on IF there is a newer solution out now plus getting a bid on just refacing with paintable maple or plywood that I can paint. A lighter valance or roman shade that you keep up would also look great.

63louise Thanks everyone. I want a new look. We have been in this house 17 years and its time for some change. I would also do the back splash. I live in a rural community so getting contractors in to do new refinishing is not a inexpensive obtion. Also if I could I would do new counter tops. I plan to get the range hood changed to stainless steel.
