This ugly 80's kitchen got an update. What do you think?
What Allen Interiors did for this home renovation: we designed, supplied and installed the new Maple Cabinets with Harvard Stain, Caesarstone Countertop on the wall cabinets and a Category 7 granite on the island. We supplied and installed the new Natural 2-1/4" Hardwood Floor manufactured by Mercier Hardwood. We supplied and installed the Backsplash which is called Stella and is a MUST SEE in person. We were not responsible for the appliance or plumbing selections.

suelang Very nice! I have 80's cabinets and would like to know if you just replaced the doors or all new cabinets? Also, how much did it cost for just the cabinets? Thanks

aksnt11 Holy cow it's night and day from the original. Congrats on a beautiful update!! Great idea raising the cabinet height up to ceiling, very nice, draws the room together. Only thing, and it's a minor thing, consider replacing or updating the bar stools in something more in keeping with this lovely remodel. You have great warm wood tones in the cabinetry, counter and backsplash. The pine stools are pretty basic and seem to take away some of the glam, although yes, they blend well with the floor. Perhaps even a cushion in warm colors would be great, I've added a few ideas below. Lovely kitchen, a fabulous update !

Allen Interiors & Design Center Inc Hi sulang, this kitchen was a total gut. The old cabinets were removed and new ones installed. The cost for the cabinets was about 20K. Sometimes it is just as expensive replacing the doors as it is replacing the whole kitchen. Do your research! Good luck.

Mike Wilson Custom Carpentry & Design llc Should always install a counter depth fridge, or make the cabinets deeper. The edges of a fridge sticking out beyond the cabinetry detracts from its beauty.

Mike Wilson Custom Carpentry & Design llc Everything looks great, except for the color of the floor, stools, and protruding fridge.

julie77777 Allen Interiors - lovely! You mention Harvard stain. Is that the brand name? (Googling didn't help me.) What actual stain color choice is used? I like it! Thanks!

hockey456 Glad it's not my kitchen. Everything is brown. No contrast. Stool styling is lacking. Backsplash and countertop are too busy with one another. Flooring is, well, brownish. ...
An improvement from the old, but generally a miss. Sorry.

kittiecollins I have to totally agree with hockey456. Better than it was, but has no 'depth' to it at all. The chairs look like a cheap after-thought as does the flooring as the colour wood chosen doesn't work with the cabinets. Could have been stunning as has a nice layout. Needs a pop of colour and more stylish chairs, flooring and tiling.

4isablessing kittiecollins, what should the flooring be if you have this color scheme?

Reico Kitchen & Bath What color is the Cambria countertop?

kittiecollins 4isablessing, a slate floor would have looked great with the colour of the cabinets; or a stone tiled floor of similar colouring the the splash back to tie that in more. As is stands, the flooring just looks like the cheapest blonde wood laminet possible and jars with the cabinets, in my opinion.

Sharyn I love it! I can see you splurged on the recessed lighting - which really adds so much to the room. I agree with others about the bar stools though - you put so much money and effort into this room, the stools lessen your achievement. Your kitchen is warm and inviting, but the stools look uncomfortable. It's a quick fix though!! Enjoy your new kitchen.
