Need help choosing a baby room paint color
lgriffin2004February 21, 2013
We are incorporating white, beige, orange and blue in the two furniture pieces. The curtains will have tie backs in the key pattern with orange trim. The bedding will incorporate the same colors and the chair is a linen beige. We decided against greens and blues don't seem to work either. I want the room to be soft and only include a few elements w animals. Any help is appreciated. Need to get this room painted so we can move on to wall decor.

How about a very light version of the clay colour (the dot above the blue elephant). I don't know, SW Popular Gray or SW Alpaca? Just guessing though, if you take your fabric to the paint shop, you can find a matching colour. First photo is Popular Gray, second is Alpaca

I like to choose the paint colours from fabrics. Why not pull the lighter colour from you key patterned fabric then do an accent wall or the ceiling in the darker colour?

This will keep the room soft and add a bit of interest at the same time. I love the idea of doing the ceiling as a darker ceiling always feels cozy in a bedroom.

Then you can pull a few more colourful items in the form of soft throws and toss pillows in the blue and orange from your elephant throw.

Congrats on the new addition to the family!

I'll go with a pur bright white and an orange border like in the picture from this link:
. If you are looking to organize your baby's toys we carry great modern boxes, basket...that would be perfect in the room. Good luck!

Hi! I find it easier to choose a paint color when I have accessories to go off of. I found this great rug that has all the colors you want to incorporate, so thought you could give it a try:
http://deciture.com/shop/rugs/world-market/animal-friends-rug-3ftx5ft/ (comes in different sizes)

Hope that helps!
