I really need your help on which rug for my new sofa.
Just got the sofa today and need to decide on a rug by tomorrow. Let me know your thoughts please, blue/green or pink??

Christine Bhe, Bhe Design LLC I think the blue/green option looks best - it compliments the sectional fabric and flooring nicely.

Curb Appeal Renovations Too funny! I'm just the opposite. I was thinking the pink. Not sure what color your sectional is, but with the pink rug, it makes the sectional look purple and I love it! Now, with that said, it's kinda funky and you'll need to decorate accordingly. With the blue/green, it makes the sectional look more grey'ish. Not my style...but again, it's not my home. My vote...PINK!

Cheryl Bohlin blue green; its more gender neutral, the pink is overwhelmingly girly.

olldbobbi Blue green! All the way!
sondramartina I really love both rugs but I don't like them with the sofa.
Jayme Hobbs Have you considered any other rugs? It seems like the pink one has some of your sectional color in in, whereas the other doesn't..Or it could just be the lighting and my screen...if there is some of your sofa color in the blue, I would go with the blue.

rbess71 Neither! Go grey.

wvillageloft The sofa is purple!

olldbobbi Can I change my vote and go neither one? [houzz=

carole neither!!i would look around some more!!!

Keitha I agree with sandramartina, keep looking for a fabulous rug to compliment the sectional..... Love your choice on that!

Jayme Hobbs Pics..The patterned rug, the one with the black and purple.

lizdavispa Blue/green.....looks like you have several blue/green/purple large glass vases in the background - you must like that combo... keep the blue/green/purple going in the room.....it looks much better with your floors

sondramartina Wvilageloft Where are those rugs from? Are they wool?

Leslie Hedderly As an owner of purple couches, they are fantastic for contrast! But I agree difficult to match rugs to it, especially if you don't want to weigh down the room. I would consider different rugs altogether. My rug is a mod print that has beige, purple, black, brown and olive in a geometric print. I love it, since it introduces all new colors to play with!

wvillageloft Rugs are wool and from ABC and Moroso

Stacey Rushing Neither. You already have a purple couch. I think you need to go neutral, otherwise I believe this look will burn out and you will want to change it in a few years. olldbobbi suggested rug is really perfect for the space.
groveraxle I vote for olldbobbi's rug as well.
Megan I vote neither! You obviously want to go funky/fun...why not a fun neutral print rug and some bright pillows?
Jayme Hobbs The chevron one is a little busier
4 months ago · ·
Gabberts Design Studio The blue/green rug darkens the room a lot and looks a little drab next to your sectional, whereas the pink one brightens your entire space. If I had to pick between these two I would say the pink. However, I think you should really take your time and find the perfect rug! You shouldn’t have to question it!

I think you would be smarter to find a deep charcoal grey rug and add some fun bright throw pillows on the sectional. You can easily change the entire look down the road by replacing a few key accessories.

lindseykg Pink!! So fun!

cyn222 I'm a blue green person, but I'm totally loving the pink and that's odd. However it feels more lively and fun!
hollybar Definitely the pink between those two.

Keitha Other nice options

Annette Nelson Like the blue green, but something with a pattern might mr another option

Carolyn Macmillan definately a patterned/printed rug would like nice! lots of good suggestions above

I think this one is perfect but at the link there seems to be a questions as to whether it is available at the source where it was found. Person there is looking for another source than overstock.com
That I like about this one is it "blends" with the couch and isn't a totally different tone/mood/brightness as the bright rugs would be. Hoping you find one that works for you.

Sue Fiorentini Like the Alexa Pino Suzani Rug, but don't forget to bring the rug color up to the sofa with co-ordinating pillows like Megan said.
Christine If these are your only two choices then the Pink. But I would keep looking. Your sofa is a very dense and dark color and the rug choices only drag the whole set down. If your sofa is the show-stopper for the space then I would think you need rug and accent choices that play as a foil for it and not fight the sofa for attention. Good luck.

jesspanjj Definitely cream color

gwnorth I like the idea of grey with the purple. But then I'm biased, this is my new carpet (see attached). The lighting in the photo makes the background look very dark when in fact it is a much lighter grey.
Artistico I think you should do a patterned rug. I will help ground the big sectional.
aroush None of the above... Yours sofa has fabric on it.. The rug should contain color of sofa with some other colors ..

Barbara Burke Be sure to read the comments about the rug if you are considering it.

wvillageloft Really appreciate your help but that print is a wee bit bold for me...
lisapay8 Pink, it looks like it has colors of the sectional in it and I like the look.
anitajoyce The pink rug looks best with the sofa. A grey rug would be nice also as in the picture Specialist send in. Pink, purple and grey pillows would be a nice accent also.
tennisanyone A patterned rug that has some purple with neutral colors in it too for interest and versatility.

foodiest I vote neither as well. Although the solid colours both would work, they do nothing for the room. Find a patterned rug you love, and funkify the room with it and accessories!
zenhome I vote for neither also.

lefty47 HI -- I love the teal blue one -- it's good to see some shots of color again - looking forward to getting out of the greys we have been stuck in now for several years and everyone always recommends for everything . The other examples are DULL- DULL- DULL ! You could have a sisal rug to use for the summer but I think the blue is great with your wonderful sofa .
mcunliffe Neither! I agree with Foodiest. Get a patterned rug.
wvillageloft Thank you lefty47! I have been living with both rugs and love them both - leaning towards the blue/green right now. But grey is typical and a big pattern is I hate to say a bit 'suburban', no?
lefty47 HI -- Thanks for the comment - now for some patterned funky pillows and even a goat fur one or two. How about a big round tuffed ottoman as a coffee table in a fab color or even a furry one , there are some great ones out there !

pacocomo Blue/green!
moreismoore I usually love turquoise, but in this case the pink is way better. This turquoise is bad with the purple. Not bight enough. Pink is only girly if you do it wrong - it can be very contemporary.
Angelina Vick Both rugs are nice but I don't think they fit the couch well.

Find a big pattern you like then...=) Or a different solid color.

If I had to choose between the two...I would say turquoise.
Aja Mazin I think its a win-win choice. Either rug will look great!
OTM Designs & Remodeling Inc I would totally go with the PINK! I love it! You made me want to go and buy a purple couch and pink rug today for my living room! PINK AND PURPLE ALL THE WAY!!!!
carolins Who knew a 'simple question' would get so many reactions and different answers. I'd vote for the pink one, although I love the teal one. So that didn't help. I also love Carole's choices and some other choices up here.
On the other hand... I've just scrolled up to look again and now I'm preferring the teal one to the pink one.
Deep sigh! Good luck with your choice. I do like the sofa. No question about that.
Amy Stanley If these are the only two you will deciding from, then my vote goes to pink as well.. If you are in the market for any then I think a pattern style rug would look great!
Angelina Vick There is something about the pink...that I find too overpowering to the room. It really is a personal preference...I don't think you can go wrong with either choice...but neither is perfect for the couch.

Carolina Photo To Go LLC I like your blue rug! Perhaps you could do some peacock throw cushions and even Peacock photography with those colors. Look on Etsy.com for cushions. Just input what you like in their search engine.
I posted some links below. Ist is to my photography. The other 2 are to just some of the peacock pillows on etsy- have not purchased from the shops.
