olldbobbi I like the color you have now, but I would add an area rug if for no other reason than to define the dining space.

Curb Appeal Renovations Medium colored wood. Similar to your dining table. Really dark wood and dust bunnies will always be hopping around! I'd strongly suggest engineered wood. Stability is much better...plus, with if you go with nail down/finish on site, you'll have to install plywood, that means lots of modifications to your existing home. Engineered wood and the factory finish can't be beat. Just make sure you don't buy the $3 wood...you need to get a good quality that has a good warranty and is at least as hard as a hickory.
