Are these chairs cool?!
I've been looking for 2 neutral chairs for my living room... I like MCM style... are these cool? Or do they remind you of your grandma's house, in a bad way? $119 a piece at a local furniture consignment store.

I think another cool solution was touched on above - maybe just change the legs out to some of IKEA's brushed silver jobs to match your Klippan, and voila, instant cool. (For purists, I don't dislike the legs . . ) but since Mr. Klipp has the silver ones, and ikea sells them, that might be the entrance point for cool. Colors look ideal together - and ps I have some ikea and if you don't know about BEMZ you want to - I rely on them to make my ikea cooler. google them for aftermarket ikea slipcovers in nicer fabrics and cool prints. (and no, i don't work for them)

PS: All the negative comments about the arm covers are making me feel very old right now. I feel like running (sprinting) into my living room and ripping off the arm covers from the new chairs I just got. I have 3 children and don't trust their little fingers, so I'm going to resist removing them and stick with the grandma look for a while - unless I cover them with plastic!!!.
They are cool! it just depends on how they will relate to the rest of the furniture in your Living room.
Sit on them for 20 minutes. Flip them over and take a look at the understructure. If the springs are in good condition, fine. If they've been replaced by plywood and some nails, forget it.
They've been reupholstered (and not very well), and they could be upholstered again for several hundred dollars each. The armcovers add to the period charm (or lack thereof, depending on your point of view).

Before you think of lumbar pillows, make sure that they will add to the comfort. If you don't do pillows, a throw can add color. If the colors don't exactly compliment the sofa, consider a print for pillows that incorporates both the colors of the couch and the chairs, perhaps with an accent color as well.
My own taste is MCM, so I appreciate chairs that don't have huge arms and that actually have legs. This is so nice in a smaller space but works well in a large space also.
If you pick up these chairs compared to new chairs from C&B, you will know what I mean when I say they are made better, they will be be heavier, due to hardwood frames instead of plywood.
