Can I have different wood floors in a house?
I have a reverse living home with the bedrooms downstairs. I have existing hardwood floors throughout the entire upstairs. We are remodeling the downstairs and I was wondering if it's necessary to put the same floors in the bedrooms? I don't love the floors I have.

Artistico No it is not. Especially on a different floor. Eventually you could stain the upstairs in a color you like if you have a thick enough wood layer on the top.

Ironwood Builders It depends on the stairs doesn't it? If the stairs are the transition, they exist in both areas. So what is the material there? Are the wood that matches the upstairs hardwoods or carpet? In my opinion, a carpeted stair between two areas of wood floor is... Not a great look?

Olde Wood Ltd. We have 4 different species of antique hardwood flooring in our home and it all blends together really nice. None of the floors are stained so the natural look flows through the home. We would love to help you out in your project, if you would like to check our products at www.oldewoodltd.com, we would be happy to answer any questions you may have. Either way, good luck with your project!
