Farm table
I am having a farm table costume made. I like a more primitive look and wood that has multi colors and character....Knots and distressed. Which is better pine or cypress? If I go with pine, there seems to be so many choices....

R J Hoppe Inc If you mean from a strength standpoint I would consider both equal in a table type application. As in most things there are multiple grades of lumber as well. A furniture grade of lumber has the least ammount of knots or defects allowed in it. But, for a rustic look knots might be prefered. There are price points in these options as well. Search Houzz and search "Customemade.com" when you find a table you like tell your furniture maker to make the table look like it.
