Lighting
We are getting near completion of our new home and I am having some trouble deciding on the lighting in the main living area. The foyer, kitchen, formal dining area, and nook are all viewable together.
Does this mean I need to match everything? I have attached the lights that I like. The foyer light and formal dining room lights are from a collection, but the pendants lights (would need 4 of them) and nook chandelier would be different. Is that OK? If so, do these all work together? They are close in color I believe.
If you don't think they would work, any other suggestions?
Thank you so much!

The ceilings are all 10 feet and will have crown. Susan, I understand about them all looking romantic except for the Foyer light. I am not in love with that light. However, it does have a chain so it can hang (and, yes, I only picked it because it was part of the collection that went with the dining room chandelier with the shades). Any other suggestions for the foyer light?
And the pendants if you think they are too industrial?
I already have the electric wired for 4 of the them. The long section of the island/peninsula is 8 feet - it is wired for 2 pendants, the section in front of the sink is 4 ft, and the other section is 4 feet. Each of these areas have 1 light above (per the suggestion of designer on a another discussion I had posted earlier :-)
Thanks again!
For the foyer, I could put the 3 light version of the light in the nook? Yes, it is from the same collection, but would it work since they are farther away from each other and it would be dificult to see these at the same time?
I also found these pendant lights for the kitchen island. They are along the same lines as the other, but I thought they looked a bit less industrial? However, these are only 9.5" versus 13" ( I did think that the others looked a bit too big when I saw them in person.) Would the smaller size work - 4 of them in a total of 16 ft. of counter space?
Thanks!
Just want to make sure I am understanding correctly. The 3 light chand. for the nook, the 13" pendants for island, the 9 light shaded chandelier for the formal dining, and the large pendant you suggested for the foyer.
See pics below.
Thanks you so much - you have no idea how helpful this is!
Sounds like the nook with an 8' trestle table could use a larger scale than the mini-chandelier - maybe a linear piece? http://www.lightingdirect.com/livex-lighting-4188-10-light-580w-chandelier-with-candelabra-and-r20-bulb-base-from-home-basics-series/p1033922

Love the big chandelier - they have it in a 9 light too - is it the right size for your formal dining room table? Should it be on the trestle table and maybe go to a crystal in an orb or a pair of crystals in drums?
I am going to do 4 posts with each one showing the different options of lighting for each of the 4 areas. Please let me know which 4 (one for each area) you like best (Just pick the numbers?) Or, if you don't like any of the options, could you offer suggestions for what I could use? All ceiling are 10 ft. with crown. I prefer to use a darker broze (oil rubbed?). My style (I think) is more traditional with a rustic elegance look. I don't know.
Thanks again.
Formal dining room - 12 x 13 feet. I plan to have a rectangle table with 6 chairs and buffet in this room.
#1 9 light shaded chandelier - 30" diameter
# 2 6 arm Clair - 26 1/2 or the 9 arm version of 29"
#3 ORB chandelier - 29" diameter
#4 Waldorf 6 arm 25"
# 1 Claire 18.5"
#2 Veranda pendant
#3 Kichler
Room is 13 X 6 There will be a built in banquette with 8 ft. rectangle trestle table here
#1 The 6 arm chandelier (of course I wouldnt use the same for both the dining and nook - but, I do like it and would like to use it somewhere if possible?)
#2 Waldorf 6 light oval light 41" long X 22" wide
#3 Or linear style chandelier as suggested - not sure what I would use - something like this?
#1 Pendant 13"
#2 Pendant 9.5"
Foyer....#2
Over trestle table....#2....love this shape over table
Can these pictures help in anyway?Jennifer Surface
