Want a wallpaper or paint to accent dark blue granite & white 1/2 bath vanity...over wainscoting..tiny room...
will dark blue in a paper make the room feel even smaller..?

Barbara Griffith Designs Agree..dark colors do not make a space small..many other factors, however will. I would choose something that is not that dark, because it would minimize your beautiful countertop. I love wallpaper in a 1/2 bath aka powder room. Check out this interesting paper http://www.americanblinds.com/wallpaper/productid,50994

Then add a silver leafed framed mirror, some large colorful, lighter colored, art. Also add expensive (looking) detailed handles on each drawer and one handle on the door..near top and centered on the door.

patty526 Over wainscoting? I love texture, and painting to bring out the other color in the bath adds a lot. Is it halfway up? Great chance to add color and drama with paint and paper. What is the surface besides dark blue? Edit: I took the back splash off my vanity, and matched a tile to the marble I have. They usually come separate. Then I had the small backsplash cut in two, bought some supports, and mounted them as extra shelves. Just an idea.

Judy M A pedestal sink would visually take up less space and show more floor area, which would make the room appear larger. Then you are also not restricted to certain paint and wallcovering choices because of the vanity top.

tamela123 We just removed the antique marble pedestal sink (sigh) because we need the storage space. We are putting wide wainscoting 1/2 way up and painting it white ( or...?) then accenting the dark navy granite top with either a blue, grey or papered wall above. I want to either silver leaf or paint white our existing wooden Rx cabinet .
