Accessorizing Living Room
I am trying to figure out the final touches to make this room cohesive. I like the more modern style with bold geometric prints. I need kid friendly pieces as I have toddlers in the house. I am thinking of curtains and a rug but not sure what color or if I should introduce a new pattern. Any suggestions would be welcome, thank you in advance!

DIAspoton this room could be so much fun. right now it seems tentative.it's time to commit to some bold kid friendly colors. keep the blue and green pillows and add coral and yellow. so working with these colors look for a large lstriped rug. larger pillows could be florals, polks dots. finish the sofa with a bright fluffy throw to soften the line.

hang bright salmon drapes. for a more custom look, add an outer vertical stripe of both yellow and green.

buy a wide storage chest with doors, taller than the sofa, for toy storage. put in the wall behind the sofa under the photos. replace the bookcase and red chair with a cute, low childs table and chairs set.
a white floor lamp in that corner.

what about the photos? could they go into a phot album for the coffee table? tj maxx and homegoods are inexpensive sources for large canvases. look for bright abstracts

another idea for that corner with the bookshelf would be to leave it. hang an attractively framed vertical cork board over it for the kids rotating masterpieces. buy a 6' H X 3 panel white distressed screen to hide the mess when companys coming.

dscarpe I would definitely add curtains, make the rod bigger than the window to add dimension to the window in a small room. You could mount the rod higher than the window too for. Dramatic look. Adding a large modern frame around all of your photo's to define the space might help. Look at rugs on shawfloors.com. The sight allows you to upload your photo and try on different rugs. Love your paint color, its very fresh!

misecretary Your pictures have the same problem as some of mine had. Quick fix: take them all down and look at the back of the frames. If the hanger-things aren't install evenly, pry them off and reallign them. Re-hang the pics on wall; if frames still do not hang correctly, purchase a product made specifically for this problem. It's kind of like a tape but made for this purpose so won't harm walls.

I've always used the rule of thumb that displays should be hung at eye level. When in a living room, eye level is while sitting not standing--and then hang slightly above eye level.

sam0705 I think adding some orange to the room would look great. I like the pattern of the ottoman in the attached photo for drapes.
Maybe you can put a console table or even an ikea cube storage unit behind your couch - put some lamps/accessories on top so it's adult looking at the couch, but then bins on the other side in the kids area.
I agree your photo collage should be larger - add in some bigger pics - and lowered on the wall.

amyshathaway Here is a picture of the 4th wall. I am enjoying all of your inspirations. I originally was thinking an orange/coral color would great as well.
