Transform 1970s ugly bungalow into craftsman style
I just bought this lakeside 1100 sf bungalow built in the early 70s. It has brick facing the street and block walls elsewhere.
Previous owners already did windows, doors(not that I like), and rebuilt decks, painted that atrocious peach color.
It needs a new roof -slate gray? I want to take off shutters, install wide trim around windows, add corbels, 6 or 8 inch trim across the porch roof wall (?) and fancy up the posts.
And paint color ideas. Last 2 houses were mist gray with light and dark blue-green trim, cottage style. I'm thinking yellow-green shade for body of house would look smashing with the red brick and yellow trim, not sure if another color needed. What color does the garage get painted? (I have copper trim for doors).
Not EVEN ready to tackle inside yet... that's not my stuff in pictures...
thanks for help

losthorizonlisa more shots of house. I like the neutral idea of interior but this color is too cold.

losthorizonlisa and what is a temporary update for these plain white kitchen cupboards? there's a passthrough to the living area so any color needs to blend.

Ironwood Builders You seem to have a good general plan, start with gathering ideas on Houzz and creating design ideabooks to guide your progress. The pictures are bazillion dollar places (not always...add small to any search and you get more realistic approaches)...use the ideas! A local designer can help with the exterior overhaul. You'll get so much input here, from every direction (just don't go "greige" on me) it will maybe confuse your vision rather than clarifying anything. Look up local pros on Houzz and find one that offers consults at a fixed rate. Listen hard!

claudiann I've never seen a yellow green house with yellow trim and red brick. It sounds kind of out there. I'd do the easier thing a d go classic...paint the gable black, paint the house to match the color of the brick, larger posts painted white, garage door black. Put black shutters on the side windows. Landscape around the house, something light and ferny around the front porch. Use the wilder colors for the interior.

losthorizonlisa here are some examples of what I was thinking of. the colors are all on the classic craftsman paint charts. My last two houses were pale gray with soft green and charleston green trim. I wanted to go with something else. There are a bunch of yellow homes with red brick on the street already so I'm not going with that.
