Cozy DIning Rm

I want to cozy up my dining room. Any ideas?

It is the color of the dining set that looks like ice. Also the pattern in the rug looks like ice water trickling across it find a warmer rug, maybe even an sisal, and paint the dining set black or expresso to match the buffet. Upholster the chairs in a small check that matches the colors of the larger buffalo check in the drapery. Warm things up with a wonderful textural drum chandy hung 36" or less above your table.

I would put two
Upholstered chairs at the heads of the table to add some texture and softness. You can pull two existing chairs out and put on the wall if there's room.
I like the drum chandeliers suggested above.

Some simple fixes might cozy it up - take leaf out of table if you don't need seating for six everyday, put two chairs against wall with painting, add tie on chair cushions with small print or paisley with existing colors and one bright color (look in Homegoods or TJMaxx), small shades on existing light fixture, live plants on table and buffet in great planter in your new bright color from your chair cushions. If and when you have the money, lose the rug, use it elsewhere in your home, and buy something bright and fun. Have fun with this room!

My dining room has an African theme. Everything works together well except the white table and chairs.

I would consider a taupe, particularly if you are keeping the rug. Not sure if you would consider painting the table and chairs, think it would really help warm this space up - a taupe would work well, with a patterned fabric with some color for the seat cushions.
