misecretary Would you upload a picture of your living room?

judyg Love the red pillows, not crazy about the striped. I would build on those pillows…starting with a rug.

shortped Home Goods And Pier One are great inexpensive places to look....what is your favorite color? What flooring?

ccrsmith 23degrees-the couch is from Havertys....it is super deep and its one of the couches that you don't want to get up from. It shows for $899 but I talked them down to $799.....

misecretary- I have not moved into my new apartment yet...looking for colors/patterns for things mentioned....

judyg- i am not a fan of the pillows at all lol, thinking about covering them in chocolate brown fabric in different textures...

judyg cc, boo hoo, I love those pillows. Well, I still suggest your next purchase be your rug. Much easier to find fabric than the other way around.

collettec I would start with the art or an area rug if you're getting an area rug. Do that first and when you find some pieces that you really love, work from that for pillows and other color related decor. Same with lamps. If you like eclectic, start looking for lamps and tables that you like. The items you've chosen both are relatively neutral but have style so think you're well on your way. Be open, see how it looks when you bring it home and go from there. Think jewel tone colors would work great with this. Have fun!

shortped If u love jewel tones, then I wouldn't use chocolate brown...use the bright colors u love! I agree that u should start with a rug or large art piece and use it for your stepping-off place
