Faux backsplash ideas?
I am renting an apartment and love the kitchen space but not the decor. I have decided I can deal with the dated wallpaper but would love to update the counters, backsplash and doorways if possible. Options that are easily removed or temporary are ideal. Any input would be a HUGE help!

carole my choice would be to paint over the wallpaper and leave the woodtrim as is,or put up new wall paper easier to do than sanding and painting (i think) and for the backsplash there are lots of options too, would the owner be prepared to help out with the changes you are making or is it all your own budget?

simplify52 For the backsplash have you thought about those faux tin panels you can get at Home Depot or Lowe's? I think I would check into that if I were you. Because they are lightweight, you could probably attach them using double faced tape and they come in a lot of different nice colors.

Kalyana White For an affordable option, we used beadboard for a backsplash and it looks great! It comes in 4' sections at Lowe's for about $20, primed and ready to paint. You could attach it with adhesive and put some quarter round trim at the top and bottom. Use semi-gloss white trim paint, and that makes it really easy to wipe clean.
Here's an idea:
