Mary Poulos Interior and Exterior Design My understanding is you can not paint Acrylic on Oil. If you have an oil base primer, than I think that you need to contact your Benjamin Moore dealer and they will tell you exacty what you need to do.

Posen Design If you are painting trim, you should use a paint made for trim. Benjamin Moore sells a very good trim paint with primer already mixed in. I think it is called "Advance". I have not had trouble painting Latex/ Acrylic over Oil but if you get a paint with primer mixed in it, you should be fine. I agree with Mary Poulos - ask the paint dealer (as long as it's not one of the big box stores).

Norm Walters Construction Inc. Sherwin Williams has a trim paint called Pro Classic, it seems to adhere to just about anything.

Engrav's Decorating Yes, you can put the Benjamin Moore acrylic paint over an oil primer. My personal preference for your trim is Benjmain Moore Pearl finish.

You cannot put acrylic paint over oil PAINT BUT you can put acrylic paint over oil PRIMER.
