Margaret Stevenson Ok first put new trim around the doors and repaint to compliment the Art Deco cornices then build a bookcase out from the wall where the shelves are. It can be open to use as a display case/bookcase. Use fitted carpet to soften the look after painting the walls in a neutral colour with the wall where the two doors are an earthy colour to recede and bring warmth to the room. New cushions and decorator pieces to finish!

Margaret Stevenson You will need to reconfigure the furniture to suit also

olldbobbi First thing is to paint the doors to match the walls if you want the bedrooms to be ignored. Remove all decorations and shelves near the two doors - your goal is not to draw the eye toward the doors, right? Definitely do something about all the hanging wires! The two small chairs, put them together at an angle in front of the doors leaving space behind them to access the two rooms and no one will notice the two bedrooms.

Suzanne Regimbal Empty the room. I like your carpet, that could be the starting point for colour choice. It's difficult to figure out the room but I think the rug should be pulled out to the centre of the room. Paint room a warm sand colour. I don't know if the TV can be moved, but you have to find a way to hide the wires. If the sofa can have its back to the doors it would take away the attention to the doors . I'll let you con cider this:-)
