Katherine Marle_Moberg Niches can be very lovely in a foyer. I would paint the interior an accent color and hang a beautiful picture or painting that is more shallow than the niche. It is a purely decorative space.

kimdee24 Builders love to make niches, I'm not sure why. I'd hang a nice painting or picture in there, and like Katherine said, paint an accent color.

I'll trade you -- yours for mine. I have one in my foyer that needs a painting or sculpture -- 2 feet wide, and oh, about 60" tall. Yikes.

Dytecture Anything goes. Art, sculptures. I have dried roses in vase for the niche in my foyer !

Ella at Wishack.com Hi Parvathi,

I agree with the other posts, painting this a different color would really make the space pop, nothing too out there but maybe something like an olive green that isn't overwhelming. Or you could add a nice piece of wall art, something like this: http://www.wishack.com/Holly_Martin_Aiden_Wall_Art_p/ham-93-013-056-4-22.htm

It's not too large but it has a nice color palette for you.

Or if you want something really cool, try these: http://www.wishack.com/Holly_Martin_Samuel_the_Lion_2pc_Wall_Panel_Set_p/ham-93-008-056-1-04.htm

Not sure on the dimensions of your space but you could create something totally unique this way.

vmanna1972 I would add a light and beautiful iron scroll work! Another option is tall branches in skinny sleek vases since it is not deep. Paint colors are by choice. I don't know what u have in surrounding areas.

olldbobbi How about painting it an accent color, and adding a great clock? [houzz=

JUL313 Gallery A great painting would really show well in the space. I just completed several paintings which would look great and really bring out the room. I also work on commission. My website is www.jul313.com. Contact me at julie@jul313.com with any questions
