olldbobbi It's hard to say without seeing the other walls in the room, but an area rug is a great idea. I would re-think the color in the curtain fabric, something with blue in it would be great. [houzz=

Kelly I think the room needs some texture. i would go with a natural fiber rug. A long table for a lamp and some knickknacks. Floating shelves? Photographs to personalize the space placed over the table.

alina8 So SOrry I didn't realize I posted an old picture of the room, Heres what I have so far :) Any suggestion for additions? I was thinking a portable fireplace as well?

Kelly Move the chairs angled to the wall, it feels a bit like a waiting room. A table in between the two chairs with a lamp. A gas FP would be very nice. Maybe put the chairs in the corner on two different walls? The artwork seems heavy over the chairs, but i love it. Is that branches in a frame? Love them. Still feel it needs an area rug as well.

alina8 Thank you very much!! What do you think of the accent color being yellow? And the drapes? Also what type of rug and I want a chandelier (rustic look) Do we need to add any green plants in here? This room will basically just be an extra room to sit back and relax, it is located to the right as you walk into the front door..

Kelly Yellow is a great color, just remember whatever color you like go 3 to 4 shades lighter- it will paint much more intense than a small chip shows. A chandelier may be too much...maybe wall sconces? I still like the idea of a natural fiber rug- sisal see above. They are easy to care for and will add texture to the space. I like this little end table...you can wheel it out for a quick game.
