Anybody attempted to put the refrigerator and stove beside each other?
The kitchen has a very small space and still the client wants to put a counter. There is already an existing kitchen provided (it's a ready-made house) and based on my layout it seems that i was able to pull-off all the client's preferences except i have to put the stove and fridge beside each other. I am not sure if its a safe thing to do.

rawketgrl I had a kitchen like that in college. It was rough...crumbs and mess down the crack between, it was a bit tough. However safety wise it was not a problem because it was an electric stove top. I would not even consider this with a gas stove top.

Kelly Keep in mind it will make your refrigerator less efficient if the oven is on for a long period of time, but there is no danger. Appliances are much better than they were years ago. It is not the most attractive arrangement, but sometimes the space won't allow for it to go anywhere else.

Ironwood Builders The NBKA has recommendations about the minimum counter top to have each side of the range. The ability to use both sides and have 12" to 18" of work space is pretty handy...and then there is the inevitable grease splatter tat drips done in there with the crumbs and bits...regular cleanup. I would avoid placing the refrigerator and range side by side.

A Kitchen That Works LLC Don't do it. It is very easy to burn yourself when cooking in a cramped environment like this, regardless of the cooking fuel.
