Need help for my new living room!
February 26, 2013 in Design Dilemma
Living room's walls are light grey and the floor is black. It has a big window (you can see green plants and trees outside). It also has a french door. I have bought a white sofa in traditional style and a white coffee table. Television is opposite the sofa on a black long short table. I need some ideas for the color of the rugs, the curtains and decoration ideas. Thanks! :)
PS: the photo is taken night and you cant see the room very clear but you can imagine from my description.

I would start with the rug first. There are many options - natural for a coastal look, kilims and oriental for a global look and contemporary or modern. Which style do you prefer?

Once you've made that decison, you can start looking into window treatments. I would recommend shades mounted close to the ceiling to give the illusion of a taller window. The material you choose will depend on the rug as will the pillows and other accessories. Hope this helps.

Regarding the rug, i prefer the first one which is more "quite" as I think it will "light" the room!

I also forgot to tell you that I like vintage and retro style and I will try to make all the house in this way.

I have the same couch and what I love about it (besides being comfortable!) is it's unrestricted style! Here are two rugs that have alot of colour and a little wink at retro/vintage with the kaleidoscope pattern.

Hi, i would put two larger, and two smaller pillows green or maybe gentle yelow colour , defenetlz i would do that with carpet on the floor to be open colour some warm brown , or light brown, on that shelf i woult put a vase with florewrs, and that decoration on your table i would switch with somthing in colour, cops like you put white i would put diferent colour .

I recommend simple draperies and a chunky lamp similar to the attached picture. ...Then you can add pops of color.
