Need help for designing/decorating living room with large grey sectional couch
Hi all, we have a small living room and recently bought this large dark grey/ebony colored couch with matching chair. The chair can be also used to make a sectional (see pictures). I placed it in the corner of the living room and need some inspirational ideas. In particular:
- What rug color and size? I was thinking about a white plush rug or so
- The wall is empty, what can I do? (floating shelves? Large mirror?)
- Window treatments, I don't think curtains will work but I could need some ideas regarding colors for blinds etc.

Further info:
There will be track lightning installed very soon.
The tv with tv stand is on on the opposite side (see picture)
The room is small, but I am planning a small counter height dining table in metal and black on the other corner / side of the room.

I would appreciate any help in terms of redesigning or any further decorative recommendations. Thanks!

santaselv Thanks, I like the rugs in the 2nd and 3rd pictures, I will def. look for something like these now. Just need to figure out what do to with the empty wall. I'd rather not paint the wall and keep it white

jecikaq Hi, first of all if your furniture is in that position, and your central wall is where your tv is , that wall should be central for decorating, not in casual colors, at least i wouldnt do like that, i would do decorative colour to expres room, to be like wow omg how this looks like, elegant and poreful, other wals i would put in pure whire, on the cealing and that is yust a sugestion you can put decorative plaster , with highlights in it and you get comlepte space,on empty wals i would put pictures , some good lamp on the floor . i hope i helpt you, you can check ideas for decorative walls here thay decorate my walls i am super happy but thay are farr awayyy here is link http://www.molerskiradovi.co.rs/galerija-radova/galerija-dekorativnih-radova

anne dee Exactly, where is the empty wall in relation to the sectional and the TV. I agree keep it all white. It'll look brighter.

JUL313 Gallery I would focus on rugs and art/accessories to make the room come together. Depending on your taste you could pop it out with some color or keep it in the same family for a dramatic effect. Either way its such a great room to work with . I have just completed several pieces of art that would look awesome. I can just see a large piece on the wall!! I do commission work as well. Please contact me at julie@jul313.com if you need further info and visit my website at www.jul313.com. Have Fun!!

santaselv Thank you so much for your helpful comments & suggestions! Here is a picture of the other side of the room where the tv stands. There is an opening and hallway which is the entrance to the apt, so I don't think can decorate much on that wall. I will simply put a black/charcoal colored tv stand to match the couch.
Regarding the empty wall near the couch, I agree, there should be a nice painting or so. Preferably with something red in it, so I can add red accent pillows, which seems to be a nice catchy color on a dark grey couch, e.g.

For the floor, I am thinking of getting a white shag area rug.
Now, I am still wondering whether I should add drapes for the windows in grey and white to match the couch or rather a natural solid color?
