Needing ideas for master bedroom paint color, please.
I would like to keep existing furniture, but would like a more contemporary look. We will be replacing the ceiling fan with a more contemporary fan and adding recessed lighting. I am thinking of an accent wall (possibly stratton blue) and a dark brown color for all other walls. Any suggestions would be appreciated!!

curacaoblue Are you keeping your bedding? Is that the reason for the blue accent? You have the same fan my house came with. I want to replace them too. We also have almost the same headboard and dresser and cat lol. Too funny.

Marie Hebson's interiorsBYDESIGN Inc. Hi lriney, Marie here.
What's wrong with the wall colour - I like it!
What you need to do is get some great table lamps, take the doily off the dresser and find that orange toss cushion that ties everything together.

Don't like the tiny photos above the headboard - I'd move those to another smaller wall and stack them. Your hanging your pictures too high on the wall, move them down a good 12 to 16"

Your table lamps need to be on either side of the bed - and they should be full size table lamps - not small spindley things that get swallowed by the bed. Or, you could find retractable wall sconces for reading, they plug i, but are attached to the wall. - that's always a good idea if your cramped for space. Some ideas posted here for you - love the orange you just need more light in the room!

lriney HA HA!! Small world! I would like to keep the bedding white with some added accent pillows. I know we are going to replace the shades. I am open to any colors! I had originally thought about an orange accent wall (I LOVE ORANGE) but could not find the right color.

ASVInteriors Much as I love a dark brown, I wouldn't recommend it here because your furnishings would be drowned by it. What would look nice here is an olive green: It sets off your rust/orange accents and would work beautifully with your dark wood.

If you could change your blinds to curtains (or add them, I think it would finish the room in that corner. The other corner by the picture requires a small slipper chair, or stool just to balance it
All the best for this project

Marie Hebson's interiorsBYDESIGN Inc. And the wall sconces that plug in but are attached to the wall - instead of table lamps -

vickybania Hi there! I suggest you should paint the wall in light beige color and put pillows and accessories in beige and light brown shades.. This way it will look more light... You can also put white frames on the wall over the bed...

curacaoblue I think orange accents would compliment a blue wall quite well

lriney I like the idea of wall sconces! I did not think of that. Would that be a better option than recessed lighting? And would you still do table lamps along with wall scones? I also like the olive green color. That would make the orange pop!

Joe's Premium Painting Maybe you should think about a lighter color for the walls, it will open the room up!!!

lriney Marie-If I removed the smaller art from above the bed, would the two larger pieces I have go well above the bed?

Marie Hebson's interiorsBYDESIGN Inc. I disagree - if you go darker, but add more lighting it can create a really cozy, sexy mood in the bedroom - but you must have equal parts of light-bright to make it feel welcoming.

No - I would not pair wall sconces with table lamps - it is one or the other.

Olive green I wouldn't normally pair with orange, unless the tone is being pulled out from your inspiration fabric from a toss cushion you find...find that inspiration fabric first - then pick your paint colour. Good Luck

SPACIALISTS Hi lriney,
I like the room wall color, if you decide to change the wall color here are some ideas you may consider.

lriney Spacialists- Is there a paint color for the orange, green, and blue? I like those colors for a possible accent wall (behind bed), and maybe a more neutral color for the other walls. Thank you for all your help!
