We have a gorgeous
Prairie Style house
that was "remodeled" during the 90's and covered with ugly vinyl siding. We want to re-do the exterior, but are unsure about colors/materials. Any suggestions would be really useful!

Are you trying to recapture the original look?
It would be great if you could find some pictures of the house before the siding was installed. I wonder if the roof over the front door was flat, since it has the support rods. I don't think that you need to have leaders off the gutters, which really look unattractive. I would replace them with

I would be looking for clues of what is under the siding. I can imagine
by the front steps and I wounder if the front room was a porch with columns at one time.
