Ideas for a front porch?
I am looking to add a front porch. Desire a coverd sitting area. Difficulty: budget is about 10K.

Naomi Frash Could you do a large back porch, with a small front porch from the front door to the right hand side of the house?

Tres McKinney Design What a charming house. I would think you could build a simple porch the full length of the front of the house or to one side of it for your budget. the existing little porch over your front door would have to be bumped out. Simple wood posts and wood deck would be in keeping with the style of the house and probably keep within your budget. Alternatively a brick, concrete or stone porch floor would be nice but probably more expensive. I am sure you will get some great ideas from architects and contractors.

Dytecture I agree with spanning the porch across the front of the house, the slope might need to be less than the current roof.

richawolf Thanks for the suggestions. I am thinking of going with something like this. I would wrap it around two sides. Any thoughts?
