Towel bar height
How high should a towel bar be from the floor ? Also how high should a towel ring be from the vanity?

Carolyn Albert-Kincl Design I like to install towel bars at 42" above the floor so that there's space for a piece of art above it. But a lot of people install them higher, and goodness knows that the installer, left to his own devices will hang them at a height where he doesn't have to bend over to do the work.

The height of a hand towel ring will depend on your hand towels. You want the ring high enough that the towel stops at least 4 inches from the vanity top. Be careful, too, to not install one where it will cover an outlet. I actually prefer to use the new toilet paper holders for hand towels. See photo below. I find it a much cleaner lined design than a towel ring which takes up a lot more space.
