Which chair would look best with the sofa?
I purchased two of each but must decide on just two. Which one should I pick or would one of each look ok with the sofa I purchased?

We have dark wood end tables & coffee table.

sandyrelief I purchased this sofa with the easy chair and a recliner love them

bobier I love them both, I too have a gray couch and chairs. Go with the most comfortable!

carolins I wouldn't go with one of each if I were you. The paisley chair looks more comfortable. Also bulkier. So if you add two of those your room needs to be big enough. I would like the striped chair as a chair in a corner.
Nice choices though. Good luck with the final decision.

kcshenk I like the paisley. Looks more comfotrable

alei1 I would go with the paisley as legs look in keeping with the sofa.
The paisley chair also looks like its of a similar height and also looks much more cozy.
Good luck!

bbrennen Love it all. Wherer did you find the sofa and chairs? Is the sofa comfortable? I would do the strips because you have a patten in the curtain. But if you need a more comfortable chair that is more important if this is a room you relax in.

Jayme Hobbs Are you going to have an area rug? If u had the rug pictured, I would say the striped chair because the stripe fits in well with the other patterns...Either way way maybe I think I like the striped fabric better with the curtains.

alei1 No contest!
Grey should be the theme and not the stripes. The paisley and striped cushions go beautifully on the sofa and ties the whole look together however the paisley is much softer and gives a nice calm feel.

Sharyn I saw this at Ashley also and debated with which chair to get. Both are nice but the paisley gets my vote. They also have a matching rug if you're interested. If you are in the Chicago area, a store called S&S sells this set at a significant discount.

DIAspoton the good news is you can't go wrong with either choice. i'm drawn to the stripe because the wood blends with the sofa legs and your tables.however if the floor or rug is very dark, go paisley for balance.

Monica McCleary-Stuart I like the paisley...love the sofa! You dont really need a rug..

Carolyn Albert-Kincl Design The paisley chair will offer comfort, tho I'm not sure I'd want them right in front of the window. But if they aren't going to be in front of the window, they would def be my choice. However, I'd like you to change the matching pillows on the sofa to a color, perhaps yellow or coral.

decoenthusiaste Both are great and I'm in the camp of one each, using the striped one with it's own side table as an accent somewhere not as close to the main seating group. Can you afford two of the paisleys for the immediate seating and one of the stripes ones to accent? Decor often works in 3's! lol

nikitasmom My vote is for the paisley as well. It just looks more inviting to me.

Tami Jones Interior Design Is this a room where you will want comfort for watching tv as a family, etc? If so, you will probably need to go with paisley option for the comfort factor. If it's a room you primarily do entertianing in, then you could go with the stripe. I prefer the window treatment that you posted with the stripes over the paisely and I agree with Carolyn above that a pop of color with the pillows would add a bit more personality to the space.

Please don't purchase a matching rug - get one that compliments rather than tries to match the pattern.

Good luck with your space!

Carriage Lane Design-Build Inc. I would do the paisley chair and add a solid colour cushion on it then add a patterned cushion in the same colour on the sofa to bring the 2 together

Carolyn Albert-Kincl Design I totally agree with Tami Jones that you should not buy the matching rug! Too much matching!

Gloria Jaroff, A.I.A. Depends on what level of comfort you want. they both look great. You have a good sense of how to mix patterns, colors and textures. You could go with one of each.

Gloria Jaroff, A.I.A. It depends on how the room is arranged. Can you send other photos of area surrounding the sofa?

Gloria Jaroff, A.I.A. Photo helps alot. Can you answer a few more questions: Is there a 3rd wall to the left of the breakfront? (another photo would help )what other furnishings are you planning in addition to the upholstery? what are the dimensions of the space? Where is the path of travel?

decoenthusiaste Your dining table seems a bit Craftsman, and is obviously too large to go where it should under the chandelier. Have you considered selling the set on Craigslist and getting a smaller round table that expands for larger parties? That would enable you to use the existing dining area and have room to enhance the living room. Your wonderful new furnishings don't seem to me to be compatible with the style of the dining set or your other casegoods.

Daniel Dionne Designs llc "Collected" is both current and timeless. One of each chair. You definitely have space for a third if budget allows. Use a second of the stripe. In any scenario, placing the chairs in the window and having the sofa face the window will immediately open the space and make it feel bigger. As for a rug, since you have done a nice job of pattern mixing in your options, consider one that is about texture, versus pattern. This would also be a great way to bring in a punch of color, but NOT the yellow of the pillow you like. Too much. Maybe even a deeper shade of charcoal for contrast of depth, vs. color. This will add warmth while not introducing another pattern, which could definitely become too "busy". The style of your dining furniture actually seems ideally well suited to the upholstery you are considering. (Ethan Allen?) All are clean of silhouette and if I am seeing the sofa pic clearly, the leg of the sofa is even in a similar finish. You might even consider placing the china cabinet where the sofa table currently is in the picture, thereby creating strong focal point as you view the room from the foyer and probably giving you enough space to center the dining table beneath the chandelier, perpendicular to the end wall where the sofa in the other pic is currently placed. (but not sure about that part, based on photos). You seem to be headed in the right direction. Good luck and happy decorating!

Gloria Jaroff, A.I.A. Can you give me a shot of the room from the china cabinet? and let me know if the attached plan is close to your room. Thanks.

mymich go with paisley. comfortable and nice looking.

jaymayes I'd choose the paisley. It's more complementry to the sofa style. The other chair has a much more formal aire to it.

erasistible I would do the paisley chair and choose diferent curtains--a stripe like in the other chair or a geometric.

kmkh I like the furniture you've picked out, especially the paisley chair. Can I ask where you bought it from? Or who the manufacturer is might be a better help. Thanks tons. K

Mega Builders The paisley seem too big for the room, you don't want to overcrowd it. So although they are probably more comfortable, I would go with the stripes.
