Need help with window panels, and rug
ok- have loveseat and couch that are ivory, and a espresso color leather chair and separate ottoman . bay window with a couch in it, and one single window on a long wall with a couch on it. opposite wall to the bay window is a media sideboard in mahogany, and a flat screen on the wall above it. i love chocolates, burgundy, sage and possibly navy, and would like to figure out how to pull it all together using any of these color options and do an accent wall on the tv wall of a dark of one of these, but pull in a pattern like quatrefoil on the panels or lattice on the rug. HELP!

Window Designs Etc. by Marie Mouradian Let's start with the media wall- I suggest a medium sage color. Using a cool color will make the wood grain in the mahogany pop and create for some nice contrast. I consider green as a neutral- just look at nature. A lighter sage could be used on the remaining three walls.

It sounds like the rest of the room is pretty neutral so it needs some balance of color. Using fabric with deep colors and a large scale pattern will make a nice backdrop for the ivory sofas. Consider using the same fabric for the single window but in a different style of treatment.

Although a quatrefoil pattern is typically two colors, contrast banding can be used as a way of incorporating another color. ie a navy quatrefoil with sage banding

Happy decorating!

ksgarfield ok- what about the area rug- if i have a large pattern on the curtain panels, and throw pillows, what do i look for on the area rug?

Window Designs Etc. by Marie Mouradian A rug in a two tone geometric pattern that picks up on a color of the window treatments will anchor the room. Hounds tooth and chevron patterns are currently very popular. A lattice or quatrefoil pattern would look nice too.

ksgarfield What if I did pewter blue curtain panels with a herringbone pattern- couches ivory, and espresso leather chair- what color walls and rug could go with this? And a accent wall color as well. Thanks!
