Need help to purchase a refrigerator
How many inches extras to the front? The 69 3/4 H & 35 3/4W are fine except the Depth 33 9/16. The space I have is app 25" to the front of Depth. What can I do?

Riddle Construction and Design Really deep refrigerator !! If built in is not in your budget ( think Sub Zero) then ask for a "counter depth" free standing refer at a reputable appliance store. There are many brands out there. We just installed a Kitchen Aid that was 27 /12" deep, side by side. Not the 25" deep a built in would be, but a whole lot better than one that is 33" deep.

kmkh When you say you have only 25" for depth of your new fridge is that the depth of cabinetry beside the fridge? And what depth are you measuring so that we make sure we are comparing the same thing, ie are you measuring from back of fridge to front of fridge cabinet, or front of door, or front of handle?

Doors on fridges are thick, so where the measurement is taken makes a huge difference in understanding how deep the fridge really is. Even the handles can add another 1-2 inches. When I've looked at fridges, I've seen all three measurements used - well 2 of them anyway - fridge cabinet only depth or fridge cabinet plus door depth.

Remember, even 'counter depth' fridges aren't counterdepth! The cabinet only is, but the door and handle must come out further or you couldn't open your doors, except for subzero and other fully built-in styles. However they come with a fully built-in price tag!

So then the question becomes, what would be the distance between the potential new fridge and whatever is directly in front of the fridge area? Ideally you want 36-42" in front of fridge to allow opening fridge door, people passing...

Of course the whole trade off is space inside the fridge. Will 4 more inches in the traffic path bother you more than less storage in fridge would? Look at all the measurements - total outside dimensions as well as storage volume.

Good luck!
