Help needed with kitchen tile backsplash recommendations. Color, Type?
We were thinking subway tile with a glass mosaic design behind the range? Color? Type? Any help would be appreciated.

7j DESIGN Since you don't have a lot of area for backsplash so I would not break it up by going different behind the stove. You could do subway tile all across and then add a row or two of blue grey glass tiles just above the switch plates so that the glass tiles are continuous and not broken by the switch plates. Blues would look beautiful with your browns, unless you want to pickup another accent colour from the adjacent areas.

2219 It sounds like you pretty much have it picked out already! I love subway tile backsplashes. If you pick out a warm toned color scheme to go with your counter tops and cabinets you should be good. Glass tiles with three or four different colors would be pretty.

pblount74 So no breaking it up with a glass mosaic behind the range?
We were thinking a very light grey or off white subway tile with brown and grey flecks?

Redbud Custom Homes I would keep it super simple, solid color soft off-white ... check out dal-tile, they make a product called "Rittenhouse". Very inexpensive and looks incredible. IMO the glass tile will be lost in the small backsplash space behind the stove.

Barbara Griffith Designs The countertop has a small busy pattern..so I would not do a small busy pattern on the back splash. And certainly keep the entire backsplash the same, even behind the range.

Barbara Purdy - Purdy & Associates Design What ever you do, keep it very simple with no accent area at the stove. You have a back splash on your counter top and it does not go straight across, nor does it line up with the end of the uppers. It will look awkward I think if it is light in color or contrasting in color. You might do better with a darker, smokey brown colored glass tile somewhat like your counter top, in a subway or elongated subway pattern so as not to emphasize the counter top back splash. You also have many outlets/covers in that area. turn the outlets sideways to fall in line with the same direction as the tile and use stainless covers.

Kelly I don't know that I would bother with back splash....is this the only two areas or is there a sink area as well?

Gabberts Design Studio I would advise keeping the backsplash neutral and simple (as in subway tiles) and apply the same treatment to both areas.
