Kelly Are you going for a southwest look? The artwork you are showing seems to go that way. For a rug, I too have sassy puppies, I purchased an outdoor rug. If we have an accident it cleans up easily- no smell. And then a few times a year a take it out and clean it with a hose and let it dry in the sun. I would go with something that has a cooler tone to it, nothing too yellow. Layer in lots of colorful pillows with some neutral textured ones. I think your rods need to be moved out about 4" from the edge of the window frame. It will make the windows appear larger. Ans since you do not have any molding they need to be lower for sure. Try to bring in more neutrals- you do not want the curtains competing with the colors and patterns.

Angela Pascoe I am from the Jamaica so the sunset has always been appealing, plus orange is my favorite color. I will do that with curtain rods. I do plan on adding molding in the future though so should I lower the rods then. or keep them there.

Carolina Photo To Go LLC I like your new curtains if they are the striped ones. If you are going to add molding to the window soon, I would wait to lower the rod. But as it is now, it is still too high. You will have to buy sparkling from Lowes and a shackling knife to fill the holes. Sometimes if you scrape off all that is on the surface, you don't have to sand before painting.

Angela Pascoe Thanks Carolina but molding will be on the ceilling not windows not sure if that makes a difference. The curtain rod was messed up from the beginning but was too lazy to fix them. But will do this time around when I do the ceiling, molding, new lights for ceiling. I am working with a designer and she recommended that I lower them also. But trying to do some stuff on my own to save some money.

jlaurern I think that since you have strong colors on the wall and in the curtain, you may want to think about adding some neutral colors in your design.. I really like where you are going with your design.

Shobha Bhushan The decoration is going well ,just to bear in mind that neutral palettes have to come in to reduce the strongness of the wall colors.I suggest you choose a wooden tray to be kept on the central table,try doing some woodworking or stenciling just to add some zest ,as right now the table looks boring.this would be easy to maintain tooand serve your guests some tea . Only two prints work well the ones in similar tones ,frame it up withsome silver frame and place them side by side ,that could be your focal point.

Kelly Buy what you love, Angela......go with your gut. If you love it that is all that really matters. We do not have to look at the room every day. Do what gives you pleasure when you walk into the room.

Angela Pascoe It is just that sometimes you see something that looks good but it font always look good in your house. Or when you sleep on it you realize it wasn't what you want.

Kelly I know, it is hard- you seem to like patterns and lots of color. So, if you love the curtains then keep them. Just make sure you are not over powering the room with too much pattern. You want to walk in and say what a lovely space- if the eye is drawn to too many spot in the room they are fighting each other. The arrangement on you cabinet is lovely. when you look at it, you see the lovely lines of the furniture and it has a purpose. Keeping you pillows neutral- solids and beige textures will make you want to sit on the sofa and relax. Also, keep in mind it doesn't have to be finished today. Add the pieces you love and live with it a few days. You are so close to having the room you want.

Shobha Bhushan You can choose the candles for highlighting the central table .I mean for the the walls ,the prints you choose could be on similar lines and a silver frame works well .The total look can be achieved in this fashion

Angela Pascoe Walked into Target today and low and behold there was the curtain that I have been looking for. Only thing they only had three in the store. Grab them all and hope and pray that the other stores around have them on hand.

Shobha Bhushan I think you are coming well ,just choose the palette for the pillows as has beenmentioned by missdenny. I think the two table vase s of similar hues as your curtain will give a corner with acane table a perfect spot.Just match up the tone and scale ,same as your curtain palette.Love the color of your curtains.Things are begining to shape well.Good choices

I thought from your post you said you needed more curtains than you could find at the Target store? You might be able to find them online too at Target.com. I love your pillows. Angela Pascoe Hi Carolina, all is well here but the allergies is acting up but thanks for checking in. Yes I got three more from another store and hopefully the next one will have the same. I added some more pillows last night but I do agree that I needed another orange should have went with my gut. Add the creme but thinking it should be more of a taupe close to the sofa. I am gonna get the gold one too but next shopping trip.

Shobha Bhushan Just move the pillow in the 2nd pic dram one from left to right side ,place the two creams at the end position ,move the beige one to the left side in between red and green,I think it will bled well.I like the pillow choices .
Alternately,try 3pillows to the left area ,remove the 1st cream pillow and place it next to the blue one ,remove one tan pillow ,odd variants are intersting ,just juggle them to get the look

jlaurern Hi Angela, love your pillow choices. Like Shobha stated, now you just have to juggle the pillows around till you find what fits for you.

I like your grouping idea. When i look at your first pic I would try the floral target pillow in front with two bright creme ones behind it.This would be focal point of couch.
Then assuming you buy another orange pillow. Flank the ends of the couch with orange pillow, the green pillow then the dark tan pillow on one side of the couch. The other end do orange pillow, blue pillow then dark tan pillow.

Carolina Photo To Go LLC Sorry about your allergies. I took allergy shots for years! My hubby introduced me to Honeywell air cleaners so we have one in our bedroom ( we keep all doors closed at night to get maximum benefit) and we have one in our family room too. We got them at Home Depot. Big improvement with them.

Angela Pascoe So this is what the room looks like now with the curtains and pillows. Know that I have to cover up holes in the walls. I have also orders a new computer desk which will take care of cutter in the corner.
