mommajoan You have some nice pieces. Now add some color. I would change the rug and add colorful pillows/artwork. Must say love the chair.
Elizabeth Cannon I just saw Englewood Cliffs paint elsewhere on Houzz. It would look fabulous with that chair.
Elizabeth Cannon And here it is.

Lilly nunes @mommajoan, thank you. i'm working on the rug... i had post my living room before for ideas they told me to change the rug, which i'm searching online for a nice rug " but not so expensive" cant find the perfect one yet. my table is empty right now, because my 19mo baby girl keep pulling things out the table so move them somewhere else for now.

Lilly nunes @ Elizabeth thank you I love the idea :-)

Barbara Griffith Designs The 2 pictures are very small..you need much larger art, and they have no color.
celestemilne Hi. They are nice pictures, but whenever I see shells, I think of bathrooms. Hubby is right on this one.
Kelly You have a great start- love the large print!
Keitha Your furniture is great but I do think you should search for something with a little more impact for artwork. I do really like your second artwork post !
Jayme Hobbs Your rug would look great with a larger one with some color in it underneath. The first pics strike me as too muted for the room, the black framed one would look better, I think...Your home is really nice, and u have a great start!
Elizabeth Cannon Love the print. Is that an Edward Hopper print? Art is really so personal. Generally I would buy art that I love and paint the room to compliment it. You might also look at Henri Matisse, Van Gogh (the starry night pieces), Picasso, Magritte and other early 20th century prints.
Lilly nunes I appreciate everyone's suggestion .... I'm going to start looking for a larger , more colorful art, :-) I guess hubby was right the shell picture belongs in the bathroom Ty guys
4 months ago ·
Lilly nunes @ Elizabeth not sure where the printed picture is from, mother in law gave it to me long ago but I never find a wall for it. So have always kept it in the cold room :-/

Janet Carmichael Go to owrugs.com. They have great rugs at great prices
4 months ago ·
Jayme Hobbs I like overstock.com also for reasonable prices on rugs.
Lilly nunes Lady's what texture on rug is good? Like I had bought 2 rugs before indoor/ outdoor online when they got home ugh too hard ... I would like something much softer not too thick but I don't know the difference or the name of the texture I should be looking for. Anyone knows?!?!
Jayme Hobbs Anything wool should usually be nice and soft, but can get thicker..Olefin is a synthetic and some of those, frankly look cheap. Sisal is rough...silks of course are soft and expensive...I have some nice wool rugs that aren't too thick or thin..and wear like iron. The indoor/outdoors I have seen seem kinda of rough. A nylon/synthetic like a carpet is softer..
aebj I like the shells. I think you would need to have some shells on your shelves or somewhere to make them work. Also, I would avoid the exact size and placement on both sides of your media center. I like your colorful picture for your living room, plus you get brownie points with hubby and mother in law. Add colorful throw pillows to coordinate colors.
chayasufrin You could use those pictures in your living room if you like them. I would place them one above the other, but I would also add a third picture to give it more dimension. Or perhaps for a relatively inexpensive piece of art you can print up a large photo of you/your husband and buy a nice frame for it
4 months ago · ·
Lilly nunes @aebj I actually have a big sea shell in one of the shelves , and also sea stars you just can't see them to well on the picture!
Naima Khalil Black and white picture of a European city my go really good with the rest of your living room decor (good luck)
Lilly nunes Uuh yeah I have Seeing those , n not so expensive I'm going to check them out tomorrow Ty:-)

aimran like your cushion basket idea (y) :) nice stuff.. colourful art work would be best for your neutral tones..
Priyanka Ramamurthy Since you already have a very beautiful piece of furniture in blue and a tinge of blue on your cabinet , u could probably add a picture that primarily has blue/aqua green in it to the left of the Television. Something like the fresh morning or water based scenery would lighten up the spirit of the living room. Let the picture size be four times of the one you have posted. Also add throw pillows in the same blue shade to your couch. You can bring in the concept of metallic silver and blue for your cabinet. All this goes only if you like "BLUE". Please post the picture once you altered the room as per your choice.
ayeitter I agree with the last comment. I would like to see some of the blue from your chair in the art. It is hard to tell from the picture, but the they look kind of small for that big open space too.
Peggy Corrigan Always hang the gift from your Mother in law makes for happy relations and she will feel appreciated...stored in the cold room...arrrgh!
Jill Pertuso I agree with Barbara Griffith Designs, the artwork is too small. You have some nice wall space there. Think about something that is at least 20x24" to flank your entertainment center. Also I would move the floor lamp away from the corner and pair it up with the chair for unobstructed viewing of artwork. Bright color mats can be used to bring some color to artwork, doesn't necessarily have to be the image itself. Another option: Framing or mounting a beautiful piece of fabric. Post after pics when you can!
Jill Pertuso Bring some color to the room with a bright rug: http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Handmade-Luna-Marrakesh-Trellis-Wool-Rug-5-x-8/6437411/product.html?CID=214117 (I would recommend the rust to go along with your Blue chair)
Bonnie Zinda have you ever thought about putting it in a corner, not flat but sides to corner.with some shelves around it. .it would give it more depth.and you could put up model cars or places you been to type of nick nacks.you could even frame the corner, with a bright yellow red and black back ground. i think that would look cool. hi I am new here.
dcarrero01 I really like how cozy this looks. If you really like these pictures I would put 3 shelves lined vertically exactly where the lamp is next to the window and place the lamp in another corner area. Place both paints against the wall, 1 on the top shelf, a nice coral or shell decoration in the middle shelf, and the last one on the bottom shelf, and the beautiful basket right below these 3 . You have a lot of light coming from that window anyway. Also, either replace the rug, or replace the glass table with a more inviting cozier coffee table: Reclaimed wood or a DIY painted wooden table, that way is safe for your 19mo when she bangs on it.. :) and very stylish. I attached one for ideas.
lessismoore Were you going for a beachy/coastal look? I take it you selected the art that hubby says needs to go in the bathroom ... You have the right idea, just need to go bigger (or with multiples, think gallery wall) for the room as it is. MIL's print is nice, but takes you away from the "beachy" direction -
e.g. http://www.greenboxart.com/store/sailboats.html -
and you could use the 2 pieces you have in combination with something like this ...
http://www.greenboxart.com/store/undersea-seahorse-family.html

Personally, I would want to change out your coffee table (especially with a toddler!) as it has a more "modern" vibe. "If" you want to stay beachy - what about a rattan trunk?
Of course, these suggestions are based on "if" that's what you want :-)

fleetwood50 I'd like to know about the TV console...
Lilly nunes @ feedewood50 what about it?
gaussie71 Hi, I have 2 of the same chairs- Hooker Furniture . I have painting of water/beach - which picks up the colour in the chair. On my sand colour sofa - I have played with pillows - i bought plain pillows with some textured fabric- and placed on the chairs and put the pillows matching the chairs on the lighter sofa.. Also- re: Rug, I would suggest getting a hand tufted in multi-colour- comes at a better price than the knotted. Once you have obtained your rug- you can then play with accessories etc. Hope this helps.

cindysilber I love the room! I do agree on another rug, you can find some nice ones on Overstock.com. I do think you need more pops of color for the couch (maybe pillows). Just keep looking around for the artwork, something will grab you and then you'll know.

gaussie71 @Grislyn, if you're still a member of DB( they have wonderful rugs- check out helenic rugs, or shaw rugs, there are also some from Kathy Ireland collection..which has colours that will work with your scheme..

aimran not following discussion above. BUT this room reminded of your discussion.
lovely how you can't call his room sea-themed yet it's blue, brown, warm, sandy :)
lovebeautifuldesign Love the room, I would really add the colorful paintings on each side of the entertainment unit..add some pop color accessories , to the entertainment unit, & if you really like the sea shells, find some & spray paint or paint which ever u perfer place them on the unit add a nice blue or color mirror & some color drapes & maybe find a larger area rug to replace or add a larger one underneath..would leave more neutral and let the pop color draw your eyes up maybe add one those decor bowls with deco shpere's n them..your baby would love those ( she will think they r balls) smiles. & good luck.

lessismoore anumaura - love that Lindenwood cir. room! Love the rug there. I'm bookmarking that as I already have several Hokusai Japanese prints (just not framed yet) Great inspiration.
mennenster Use the shell paintings elsewhere and get big colorful posters (framed) for the large wall spaces next to the cabinet. Polish film and theatre posters could be excellent. Warhol would also be good, but orginals are very expensive which why I like posters. Cyrk (Circus) posters from Poland made in tghe 70's and 80's are also interesting. Color in the cabinet also helpful; eg, large shells (you like shells) painted unusual colors that go with the colors in the posters. Indigo blue would also be good.
fimelbourne I like the shell prints, the matt provides the colour, and ties in with the chair. I think the larger portrait Hopper print clashes with the look of the room so far. It is a lovely chair.
Naomi Frash Placed one under the other, it would look fine either side of the entertainment unit or the window.
lessismoore Not that it matters, but I'm pretty sure the MIL print ... not Edward Hopper.

It's a Beautiful World! Lilly, not all shell art belongs to the bathroom, our images were once featured in the Music Room of The Sunset Magazine Idea House. Perhaps, you would like to take a look at them. And use the link below to see more... Raisa

Lilly nunes Ok guys so I just bought this rug someone suggested in a 7'6x9'6 in rust color. I can't wait... Once I get the rug I take a picture. This is the one o got!
dannielles I don't know why but when I look at the two smaller pics they do make me feel like they belong in a bathroom; maybe I have seen them there before? I would think out of the box and go with something more interesting; something that may have a 3-d appeal. I like the beach theme what about driftwood or a floating shelf with some glass pieces?

cmathis Like the wall color ...what is t?
Lilly nunes @cmatis I have no idea we bough this house almost 2 years ago and the whole house was painted with this color( we also wondering whats the colors name so we could buy some to refresh some area that needs to be refresh alittle) haha
3 months ago ·
kah416 The two little matching pictures you have would be cute hung one on top the the other either between the door and window, or on the left of your entertainment center. :) I understand how hard it can be to find art...just keep looking until you find something you just LOVE. You will it may just take time. Maybe a cool plaque instead of picture art would look nice too? Try Pier 1 if you have one near you. CUTE style...I love the colors you are using. :)

One Specialty Landscape Design, Pools & Hardscape Just another suggestion for artwork, but if the seashells are out, consider looking on Etsy.com for some artwork by a freelance artist. Some of the work out there is really great and the cost doesn't have to be outrageous. I like the idea of supporting a local artist somewhere in the country, plus no one else will have your stuff...just an idea...
Lilly nunes @one great great idea I love how they have unique art there definitely keeping that website :-) ty
3 months ago ·
lessismoore Yes, back to "art." Etsy is great. Also, depending on where you live, you might try a local watercolor or painting society or group. Maybe artist's will have open studio tours in the spring and fall. See if you can get connected to community (not high end) galleries. If you see something you like ... but not quite, many artists would be thrilled to get a commission.
Arts at Denver Gallery A pop of color and a modern look would bring life into the room. Something similar to these contemporary paintings by Colorado Artist Peggy MGivern. They are both 14x14" and are framed in gold leaf shadow box frames. One on either side would look terrific, especially if you prefer symmetrical arrangements; or one on top of the other with something similarly strong on the other side.

Lilly nunes Ty I was thinking maybe by the left side of the entertainment center right above the lamp
3 months ago ·
Lilly nunes I mean between to lamp and the E.C
3 months ago ·
lovebeautifuldesign That would be nice, have you decided not to place artwork on both sides of the E.C.? I think if you place a mirror with some color would make the room even nicer & appear larger. Have you tried Joss & Main?..They have very nice accesories and the always have really good sales. ( you just have to register to receive their e-mails).

Lilly nunes UPDATE: OK, SO HERE IS WHAT I HAVE DONE SO FAR... I GOT TO SAY IM NOT TOO CRAZY ABOUT MY NEW RUG,!! I HAVE ONE PICTURE WITH THE COWHIDE ON TOP TO SEE WHICH ONE YOU GUYS THINK IT LOOKS BETTER,WITH OR WITHOUT THE COWHIDE? :) MY NEXT THING WILL BE WORK ON THE DRAPES AND THEN ART WORK BUT I'M GOING TO GIVE IT A FEW WEEKS TILL I CAN SAVE SOME MONEY!! THANK YOU GUYS FOR ALL YOUR HELP.
Paulette Pinheiro I would go for abstract art. You could even experiment do it yourself. You may get your inspiration from your very own living room you show with your last post.
Angela Pascoe I like the one with the cowhide on top but I am no designer, not sure if it makes sense to have the two rugs though, can you return the rug if you are not feeling it.
Susan Jacobs Your room is really lovely. Good idea to do the drapes before the art work. I think the rug looks great, and I prefer it without the cowhide over it. I'm not a big fan of layering rugs, it doesn't really serve a practical purpose in your case.
kathleen MK I think you have to refine your palette. Are you going clear bright colors, rusty earth tones or soft cool colors?
I like the shells hung vertically if you are doing soft cool colors that go with the beautiful chair. The rug is too loud to me and the cowhide does tone it down. If you use more rust in a couple more places (pillows, valance?) it may tie everything together but with warmer earth tones than bright colors like your pillows and boxes.
Could you spray paint the frames of the seashell pictures black to match the picture from your MIL? if the prints are monochromatic grey, you can change the mat color to suit your color scheme. A color from the MIL picture would tie the shell prints to the picture so you could all of them on the sides of the tv hutch.
lessismoore I don't love the rug ( sort of thought I wouldn't, but didn't want to rain on your parade, but since you opened the subject ...) I feel it detracts from the chair (which, almost everyone here had something nice to say about :-) Rust and blue do look beautiful together - but this is a lot of rust, and with a competing pattern. If you want to accessories with primary colors too (i.e.: the sofa pillows, colorful art, multicolored object on the white EC ...) I think you'd have a more cohesive look (if indeed that's the direction you want) with either the rug, or the chair, but not both -- maybe a rug with a more subtle pattern.
If you want both, you may have to limit the palette of the other colors you want to introduce. Personally, I'd be using a lot of blue cushions and art in tones of blue only. Red is not rust, and yellow is not tan/gold.
Attaching a pix of primary color scheme that works. What makes it work is all the white. You are almost there ... you might want to paint your living room white? But switching out the rug seems a lot easier!
Lilly nunes Ty Ty Ty girls, as much as I hate returning things I buy online, this time I will take my time to do so. I can't call the style I'm looking for I'm not familiar with the name. My entire main floor is all about lime green, red , orange, and yellow some what red too. And what I'm looking for here is to mix them up in a fun way but not too loud. I don't know if that make sense. I just don't know what rug to pick every time I do it on my own I end up too neutral n blend in too much. I'm changing this rug tho it looks a little cheap to me in person! Ty Ty Ty for all of your comments it helps me a lot lady's
3 months ago · ·
Peggy Corrigan I wonder if you would have liked a lighter rug, perhaps the grey or just natural like seagrass or sisal ??even more neutral?
Lilly nunes @peggy yes I think I'm going neutral again I'm terrified on buying another disappointed rug!
Janet Carmichael I like the color of the rug. I think you already have a lot of neutral going on in the room. However, the rug does conflict with the chair. But if you don't like the quality of the rug, definitely return it. One quick change you could make is to fix the shelving on the entertainment unit. The spots look quite small and you've crammed some big objects and books in there. I would keep one very simple item or two very small ones in each spot. Remove the stuff on top of the hutch. It looks very random.
Lilly nunes I think what I'm going to do is wait until I get another chair, my biggest problem is that blue chair . I have found rugs I like but it won't go with that chair and to be honest I don't like blue and I don't like that blue chair. Is not comfortable. And I need some comfortable chair.
Lilly nunes @ Janet, ok I'm going to try that for some reason I feel crowded in there maybe clearing that out look help some Ty
3 months ago ·
Lilly nunes Will this rug and other two neutral chair work better? If yes I will soften the rest of the colors http://m.homedecorators.com/mt/www.homedecorators.com/P/Palo_Rug/110/
3 months ago ·
Lightmotifs You have a very nice chair. I would go with the chair and build from there, but you say you have pretty loud colors in the other rooms, so that makes it difficult. I don't like the rug, even with the cowhide on it, though the cowhide does help. I love the room anumaura posted. I don't think the two prints will work unless they are re-matted in a bluer color. The MIL artwork is really quite good with what you already have.
Lilly nunes @judith: I like her room to but I can't have it that position: I could put the entertainment unit on the other was that's facing the window but the problem will be the stairs there so the wall us kind if half wall I .i had my old living room set arrange like that and it look weird. What's behind my sofa is the kitchen as you could see it has the colors i said but not two loud:
gaussie71 Re: Rug - as I suggested to you before- try and incorporate a multi colour rug that will pick up colours in surrounding space and not clash with the lovely blue chair which I also have in my home. The blue- does not have to be an exact match in the rugs- or very loud. You can find a rug that has the colours you love but more muted ( thus pulling it all together without clashing. Then bring in accessories- Group things in odd numbers - like 3 pieces.. looks better ( you can vary the sizes and the textures ( so not all shiny / or not all metal.. Be patient as well. Decorating is a process, and You will get there.
Lilly nunes here is a picture of whats behind the sofa, and whats next to the sofa." ( we still need to finish the staircase painted white, and finish the floor there).
gaussie71 What colour is your wall? and is the entire spaces that runs off from sofa area the same colour?
Knowing this will also help- because - the undertone of the paint can clash with the other things you are trying to pull together..

Lilly nunes gausse" the whole house is painting with that color is like a medium/light beige ( like coffee with milk) haha
3 months ago · ·
gaussie71 Love this black Tufted Chair! Your style is a bit Eclectic - a mixture of old, modern. Mine too. Ok, I know this is off track- Love the rug in the office ( not sure what the middle medallion colour is on it- Blue? Try placing that rug infront of your sofa and have a feel for the look. I do this at my home and you would be surprise at the difference it makes.
Remove all pillows off the sofa when you are trying out the rug.. so clean slate( assess now the look with the chair. Get a larger Painting on the wall behind office chair. Love the colours in those art.
gaussie71 Lilly,
I just thought - the rug under the dining table is too small. ( But what about trying the rust red colour you bought - the size seem bigger.. and the colour would compliment the painting.. Painting should be hung at about eye level for what the viewing situation is. So if mostly sitting in the dining room - then from the level viewing from sitting at the table.. Hope it helps.
Lilly nunes Got it I'm going try that! Haha I know those two picture in the office look weird I had move the room around a few weeks ago and the brown chair use to be at the corner of the room by the desk n window n those picture looked good then! N yes the rug does have blue but then I would have to find a rug for this office! Maybe the cowhide? Haha
3 months ago · ·
Lilly nunes Ooh yes yes I'm trying all this! Maybe that rust will work there ... Humm didn't though of that. All this time I did knew that rug was too small haha
3 months ago ·
gaussie71 With Paint colour - I was wondering. have you consider- maybe in certain rooms..lets say( just a slight change in value of the paint.. so on the same paint pallet colour range.. just one or two values away from the colour in other spaces will - still look great - just slight change and it adds warmth. I am attaching a link to my home - which is for sale - but you can see some of the way i mix old and new.. Ok.http://www.18stoneburyplace.com/gallery
3 months ago · ·
Lilly nunes Is that ok if the rust will take over the whole dinning room tho? Cuz that room is a 8x10 and the rug is 7'6x9'6
3 months ago ·
gaussie71 It should look good! The point is when you pull out the chair to sit - should pretty much still be touching rug.. have a look. Oh, at my home ( I used a Benjamin moore colour BLUFF CC-338 ( in most of the house - But the next coulour down Wild Mushroom CC-336 ( in the dining room - Master Bed and on the wall with the 3 sided fire place.. a bit darker shade which during the day is noticeable and at night the whole place sort of look the same colour..

gaussie71 The hide could always work with the office desk! I have a hide in our office/music room. I noticed you had a chair that was tannish colour and cream pillow.. they work together.. You do have many lovely pieces - it's just to play and put them together.

Lilly nunes and here is that one picture from the entry, which now i know i like old maybe...haha
3 months ago · ·
lessismoore gaussie71 - what an incredible home you have! Lilli - yes: rust rug in Dining room - it should key in there nicely with the rust/red print you have.
The skin would look great in the office area.
If you don't love the blue print chair in living room, why not move it/exchange it with the dark leather in the office and/or the "sling" chair. (maybe both?) Move either of those to your living room, and try the greenish rug from the dining area there too first. I say no go on the other rug (red with black and white medallions). How would you feel about this one?
I'd say your style was seriously eclectic!

dewi mayangsari try to give an accent that can be rock your room to be interesting looking :).. try red, dark brown and redwood tone for the accent
3 months ago · ·
Susan Jacobs By the way, I would return the sea shell prints. Your husband is right (how unusual!), they look a little like they'd go in the bathroom of a beach house. If you can't return (tho it looks like you can because they are still wrapped) I would put them each in a wooden frame with a really big matte around them, or together in an even bigger frame with a double window matte. But that's a lot of trouble to go to if you can just return them. They are not special enough for your whimsical, thoughtful style.
Susan Jacobs Well I should have read your most recent comment - you've hung the shell pictures! Still, consider re-matting them to make them look more distinctive? You can paint the frames, too. (With all that spare time you probably don't have :))

Angela Pascoe With the rust rug, my favorite...Don't like the two chairs next to each other. .blue chair in the office

Lilly nunes Got ya. Interesting.:-)

Angela Pascoe I like the blue chair in the office, but the blue chair is good wherever you put it. Like the other rug better than the green/sage rug. And then the leather chair would go better also.. Hope that makes sense

gaussie71 Lilly! So, I see you and hubby have been busy! I really like how the dining room has come together! How do you feel about it now? Sometimes it also helps to leave the changes you have made for a couple of days- to see how the natural light ( day) and the artificial plays on the furniture and space..

gaussie71 Lilly - how do you feel about the Oriental style rug you moved over from the office? I think it makes the living area more elegant! the blue chair could still work as well. Now you have the opportunity to play up some of the colours in the rug on the sofa and pull the look together.

Lilly nunes I did like it, not so much with the blue chair, I liked it better with the brown tho

gaussie71 Lilly, sounds great! it's a start- and at the end of the day, you'll have to live with the look! the fun is in moving things around and being surprised! how about your dining room?

laurae1967 I think the rug could work with the blue chair if you switched out all your pillows and found some in rust and blue. I would not put up that picture with the green frame. Too many colors going on. Calico Corners and similar fabric stores can make pillows for you. Just keep the colors to what you already have in the rug and chair.

When I'm ready to buy and hang curtain I'll open a new post, in a few months. I need to save money for it. :-) but for now I'm happy with what I have Ty Ty Ty I appreciate everyone's time and suggestion :-)

lessismoore Hi Lilly - I was gone all day, just seeing all the new pix now. I LOVE the green rug in you LR, LOVE the rust one in your dining (so much better to go bigger in there). LOVE the sling chair in LR, LOVE the blue chair and skin in office. !!!!!!!!!!!!! Now, you can do almost anything pillow/throw/art wise in your LR - what fun!

kathleen MK Love the rust rug in the dining room ! Work with the art and the right size for the table. What synchronicity that switch rugs and chairs worked so well. The leather chair works well either place too.
mainstreetschool I like the rust rug in the dining room. Leave it there. Skin in the office with the leather chair.
The green rug and blue chair in the living room compliment the sofa style. Look at "blue And green pics" on here to see how they go together. You could frame one of the large botanical pics in a green frame to match the rug color. Or re-paint the boxes to match the rug color. Use citrus color pillows on the sofa, green, yellow, tangerine and the blue. Use these colors on the shelf unit. You had a few items here, in the original pics. Try these. A couple green plants also.

aimran b/w tell me whether that center light in your living room is a white one or yellowish sort like the lamp? please match to lamp if it is different..... (a must wihtin one room)

also, pleassssse go 'warm n cosy' with the decor.. your place is spacious looking, that's why :) (y)

Janet Carmichael Lilly - I really like the rust rug under the dining table. One thing that helped pull my rug under my table was to set the table. I don't use the napkins so they just get quickly swept aside for dinner. I like the hard placemats because they are easy to clean and don't slip around.

Janet Carmichael I think the oriental rug in the family room is making it look formal and doesn't match the feel of the entertainment center. I think the blue chair and the green rug will work together now. Get some pillows to tie those to colors in would work and then using those same colors when accenting the entertainment center. Rather than have the blue chair by the windows, could it it go on the other side with a table connecting it to the couch?
Susan Jacobs I vote green rug, blue chair in the living room. They're fresh and lovely together. Then just pull those colors into pillows for the couch and into your white entertainment center. Maybe paint those red boxes (easy with spray paint!) blue or green?

Lilly nunes Ty ladies well I did end up having the blue and green I like the look of it. I didn't put any pillows yet I hang family picture and a big art by the EC on the right side. I'll post pix later:-) I haven't put anything on my dinning room table for the reason my daughter love going on the table and pull things down

lovebeautifuldesign Hi Lily, is being busy for me the last couple day. So I'm just seeing all the post, boy! I sure did miss out on a lot. ;-) Love the rust rug n the dining area, also like the blue or the tan leather chair for the living room , but don't really care for the oriental area rug . Maybe a little paint color for the dining area , I would do drapery for living area and the area behind n some roman shades would make the room appear cozy & full ..not to cold. Those other artwork are pretty but I would do them n a bedroom or maybe the office. The black chair definetly belongs n the office area like the cowhide rug n the office.
Can't wait to see your results.

lovebeautifuldesign Lily, I just a few pics of your kitchen & the stairwell, living area. You truley have a gorgeous home.
I would put a mirror one that wall where that stairwell would make the room appear larger. They have
a website calledd Joss & Main they have really nice things. Can't wait to see what you come up with.

Lilly nunes @ Janet, you suggested to put the blue chair on the other side of the room i came up with this! what do you think? oh i had put up that art on my wall for now but im thinking switch the one on top is a sage color leaves, with a green frame, but i could switch around frames and print to what ever looks better.

dcarrero01 I saw the picture of the rusted rug with the sofa.. I love it brings life to your living room.. it looks inviting, ROCKS.. But it is completely up to you. It shows 2 personalities one of Fun Lilly, and the other one is Peaceful Lilly.. either way they are both great. I like Fun Lilly :)

kah416 I think the coral rug looks best in your L. Room, but that is only my opinion. :) You seem to have a Global-Traditional style. Very cute! :-) I really love the wall color throughout your house. It's like the PERFECT neutral...gorgeous!!!

lovebeautifuldesign I like the rust area rug n the dining & living area , maybe just purachase another one the you adore
for the living area , i really like the color toss pillows for the sofa, maybe find a rug and pull some of those colors from the rug to the sofa then add the other colors to complement your artwork as well.

Debbie Nance i think it needs some color like a blue or green rug to bring in the color

mainstreetschool Lilly, you said you like the green rug and blue chair. Keep what You like! The sling chair looks good in there also, infront of the window. Bring the blue into it with a pillow on the chair. Your original colorful picture would punch it up, if you would rather go there than the softer one with the green frams. Do what feels best for you. You cAn always change out the artwork seasonally once you have yourbasic furniture in place. Have fun.

Susan Jacobs If both chairs were removed, which side of the room would have less color? Put the blue chair in that spot, whichever it is.

judithrob Paint looks like a color place paint called dusty lane. I think some teals, sage, lavender purples, periwinkle blue would look great as throws & pillows to soften the room & pull together the furniture & wall colors.

Kristen Lobbes I know I am a little late to this party but I have to say that I think the rust rug looks fantastic in your room with the blue chair! Just my two cents!
